- Provides expert support in the development, execution and maintenance of the ERM program, aligned with the corporate ERM integrated framework;
- Develops and recommends best practice enterprise-level risk management policies, standards, processes and methodologies and guides their alignment, implementation and on-going integrity across business units;
- Develops metrics and KPIs and sets improvement targets to determine the effectiveness of the program. Monitors, evaluates and reports on progress, including program performance and remediation activities across the enterprise;
- Provides guidance and support to business units throughout the risk management lifecycle. Partners with business unit management to prepare risk assessments, including analyzing controls, identifying gaps, making informed choices, prioritizing actions and facilitating the creation of management action plans;
- Provides trusted risk consulting to all levels of management and evaluates the appropriateness of risk management procedures and techniques employed by all business units and makes recommendations for improvement;
- Evaluates adherence to risk management standards in all business units and provides training and functional advice on the conduct and critique of risk assessments;
- Participates in the development and annual planning for ERM activities, budgets and resources;
- Maintains a trusted, collaborative relationship with leadership and other stakeholders, to promote an appropriate level of engagement in ERM activities with a high level of credibility for the ERM program;
- Builds strong alliances inside and outside work units to positively influence identification and resolution of significant risks/opportunities;
- Participate in the review of key performance indicators/metrics and assists management in the early identification of risk trends;
- Manages the development and delivery of ERM training programs. Continuously assesses and communicates changes in the program content to ensure ongoing effectiveness;
- Leads a team of professional contributors towards the achievement of functional objectives; creates a positive environment that enables staff motivation and commitment to the program’s mandate and objectives.
- Bachelors degree required in a related field. Advanced degree preferred in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of enterprise risk management, audit, finance, program strategy, project management or internal operations related experience required including developing and operating an ERM process and/or performing a broad-based risk management or strategic risk consulting role;
- Experience in setting targets and in developing and implementing project and program performance measures;
- Experience in collaborating with stakeholders and communicating to internal and external groups;
- Experience in project management, demand and request intake and facilitating meetings to identify priorities, assess risks and opportunities and gain concurrence on action plan;
- Experience related to the application of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S1 and S2 and climate and sustainability risk analysis is an asset.
- A solid understanding of risk identification, assessment and mitigation techniques and approaches with the ability to excel in a fast paced and constantly changing organization;
- Project management experience and ability to negotiate deliverables with stakeholders when implementing projects;
- Knowledge of standards employed in risk analysis, assessment and management;
- Strong knowledge of NAV CANADA’s operations and culture;
- Maintain ERM training to enhance current experience and the ERM program.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to communicate complex issues in a simple manner;
- Demonstrated conceptual thinking and analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex problems that include interrelationships and dependencies in order to identify common themes and solutions
- Ability to build and maintain trusted, collaborative relationships with business leaders to promote an appropriate level of engagement in ERM activities
- Ability to work both independently and with a team in a continuously changing environment and meet aggressive deadlines;
- Inquisitive nature, resourceful, and ability to seek out information;
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality;
- This position is based out of Ottawa, NAV CANADA is recruiting top talent across Canada and we are willing to consider the flexibility for new team members to work remotely.

Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Risk Management & Alignment the Manager Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is responsible for the development, execution and awareness of NAV CANADA’s ERM program. The Manager is responsible for working with the Director of ERM in facilitating the organization through the complete lifecycle of the ERM process with a focus on integrating risk management techniques into the Company’s strategy, budgeting, operational and decision-making processes. The Manager ERM is expected to work closely with senior leadership to integrate ERM in departments and programs and support the identification, assessment and mitigation of high priority risks and aid to implement risk management strategies.Job Description
