Collaborates with Leadership to develop departmental goals consistent with those of the organization
Conducts monthly department staff meetings. Assures that minutes include communication of the organization’s direction and operation. Distributes minutes to appropriate individuals.
Collaborates with Leadership and other departments as needed in planning and carrying out daily operations.
Assures uniform implementation through appropriate planning and collaboration with affected departments.
Maintains up to date department manuals which are easily accessible to staff.
Recommends painting, and repairs. Reports any unsafe conditions.
Maintains pertinent organizational manuals which are easily accessible to staff (i.e., Safety, Infection Control, Administration, Human Resources, etc.).
Interviews and hires staff and assures that qualifications are met.
Assures that 100% of staff attends initial orientation/annual updates and department orientation.
Assures completion of Equipment/Skills/knowledge Checklist and Performance Evaluations within established time frames.
Coaches/counsels employees and develops clear action plan for improvement of employee performance as needed.
Maintains up to date files for all department employees.
Facilitate and/or coordinates in-service and continuing education for department personnel.
Researches and Recommends Capital equipment contract services and supply needs for departmental function.
Reviews quality control documentation on at least a monthly basis.
Assures preventive maintenance is done as required on departmental equipment.
Investigates/follows up on complaints, issues, and occurrences regarding the department in a timely manner. Demonstrates that problem resolution is achieved.
Recommends charges which maintain or improve standards of care and patient outcomes while reducing costs.
Reviews sanitary supply and linen contracts.
Assures that all products are approved for hospital use.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Position Summary:
The Manager of Environmental Services will be responsible for the operations of the Environmental Services Department including, overall supervision of all personnel and maintenance of a level of services which is consistent with all applicable regulations. Will be responsible for maintaining a current working knowledge of staff activities and staff as appropriate to ensure a clean, orderly, and attractive hospital.
Essential Duties:
Education and Experience:
Two (2) years of college in a related field, preferred. Five (5) years or more in the hospital environmental services field with two or more years of supervisory experience.
