- Manages and implements the college’s EDI framework and dashboard and will work with colleagues in the Office of EDI, the EDI Steering Committee, and divisional EDI Sub-Committees and other college stakeholders to share better practices, advice, resources, supports.
- In collaboration with EDI team members, establishes and supports the EDI Employee and Student Task Forces representing equity-deserving groups.
- Works with the Divisional EDI Sub-committees to provide subject matter expertise on designing practical EDI initiatives, assist with sourcing tools, monitoring progress and writing reports.
- Sources, develops and delivers EDI, anti-racism and other anti-oppression training opportunities, workshops and coaching for departments and employees on how to implement the College EDI Commitments, Action Plans, framework and tools.
- Develops and administers evaluation and assessment tools to determine the efficacy of initiatives and programs.
- Reviews college policies and training programs to ensure compliance with EDI principles and human rights legislation and other relevant legislation.
- Identifies opportunities for funding and grants as it relates to EDI across the College and develops proposals to secure funding to grow programs and initiate new initiatives.
- Establishes, coordinates and provides support to equity, inclusion and human rights related advisory committees, working groups, divisional committees or roundtables.
- Supports the Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer to organize and conduct relevant consultations.
- Researches and presents better practices and options for programs, services and policies including the assessment of implications and feasibility of options and implementation strategies.
- Researches and develops appropriate conceptual and analytical framework for policy and program development and analysis including conducting qualitative research on demographic trends and using insights to make recommendations to strategies for enhancing EDI initiatives.
- Monitors current social, economic and political trends and issues including pending legislation and Ministry directives that will have an impact on equity-deserving groups and underrepresented populations and uses the findings to prepare briefing notes, reports and or drafting recommended changes to policies and procedures.
- Working in collaboration with the Communications Department, develops engaging employee and learner messaging and strategies to promote EDI principles and initiatives.
- Develops and implements effective engagement and communication strategies to promote and support various EDI initiatives.
- Manages outreach and engagement strategies of the departmental events and activities by promoting EDI priorities and objectives.
- Builds and maintains networks and coordination mechanisms with other post-secondary institutions, educational institutions, community groups, other stakeholders or strategic partners.
- Represents the College at internal and external meetings, collaborations, corporate, intergovernmental and multi-sectoral meetings, community of practice and provincial committees as required.
- The incumbent oversees the recruiting, hiring, termination, training, disciplining, short- and long-term planning of the EDI department.
- The incumbent is responsible for providing leadership, motivating, and building strong teams and for directing staff to appropriate professional development opportunities.
- Ensures that the projects and program expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budgets.
- Develops, monitors and reconciles budgets related to EDI and anti-racism initiatives.
- Honours Bachelor’s degree in a related filed such as Critical Race Studies, EDI, Human Rights and Human Diversity, Sociology, Social Work or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
- Progressive experience with several years specifically within the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion specialization which will include:
- Experience in designing and implementing equity and inclusion programs including identifying systemic issues and possible solutions.
- Experience providing leadership on initiatives related to eliminating discrimination and facilitating safer spaces and sense of belonging initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in leveraging data analytics to provide evidence-based guidance and advice to clients.
- Experience leading work groups, committees or task forces.
- Experience designing, developing and facilitating workshops or training on equity, diversity and inclusion and leading various audiences in these discussions.
- Experience coaching stakeholders to foster the cultural change desired.
- Experience in project management.
- Must have training and experience in understanding the Ontario Human Rights Code.
- Must have knowledge and experience of equity principles and practice and experience facilitating consultations and task forces utilizing Participatory Action Research methodology.
- A strong analysis and understanding of EDI and anti-racism and the experience of equity-deserving groups, and demonstrated recognition of related Indigenous and settler lenses and approaches.
- Ability to apply intersectional anti-oppressive approaches and practices in educational, research and clinical practice context.
- Able to motivate, problem solve, deal with ambiguity and effectively prioritize business needs.
- Demonstrated professionalism, ethic of care, tact, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proven ability to build relationships, to contribute to respectful team environment, to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators and community partners.
- Ability to provide inclusive and culturally relevant support, advice and referral to students, faculty and staff.
- Lived experience as a member of an equity-deserving group.
- Knowledge of current issues and best practices that promote human rights, equity, and inclusion for equity-deserving groups and other underrepresented groups.
- Must have demonstrated skills and experience to synthesize and evaluate data and recommend appropriate actions.
- Demonstrated strong team-building, networking, and inter-personal skills.
- High degree of customer service, tact, diplomacy, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent skills in both verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional accountability, restorative justice principles, equity and inclusion.
- Knowledge of workplace violence and pertinent legislation (i.e., Human Rights, Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario, Mental Health Act of Ontario, AODA.).
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required for travel between campuses.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.

Reporting to the Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer, the Manager Equity, Diversity & Inclusion provides subject matter expertise and strategic advice on a range of equity, diversity, inclusion, and human rights related matters and initiatives. The incumbent will elevate and enhance a campus culture of inclusive excellence through their professional practice reflecting their commitment to data-informed effectiveness, identifying systemic barriers and providing recommendations leading to equitable, inclusive and positive environments. The incumbent will have a demonstrated commitment to continually improving and building the College’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) capacity.
