This position is responsible for the design and construction oversight of architectural, electrical, and mechanical systems at the Northrop Grumman Waynesboro facility to include systems to support office and industrial applications, building operational control systems, and the following facility equipment systems; boiler (steam and hot water), compressed air, process vacuum, process cooling systems and air exhaust systems.
Plans, designs, and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities.
Provide technical direction & supervision to engineering design/CAD personnel in preparation of mechanical design and equipment layouts, along installation details.
Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.
Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.
Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Conducts briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.
BS Degree and 9+ years of facility infrastructure engineering experience including: Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, BAS controls and facility piping distribution systems.
13+ years of senior facilities management experience considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
5+ years of experience successfully leading/managing teams.
Knowledge of principles and practices of project management: demonstrated ability to design and manage facility infrastructure construction projects.
Experience with consultation and change management and computer skills in relevant design and office applications.
Must have well developed analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to obtain Secret level clearance.
Facilities experience in the Defense sector along with understanding of security standard ICD 705
Proven financial, schedule, subcontract management, technical performance, and execution experience.
Experience with CAD/3D design and/or ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Experience with SAP.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector has an opening for a Manager Facilities Engineering 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be initially in Charlottesville, VA and will then transition to the Waynesboro, VA facility. The position will initially be responsible for Construction Management of a World-Class manufacturing facility located in Waynesboro, VA. This will include managing a team of facility engineers to support the construction activities and infrastructure upgrades of NGC office & manufacturing facilities located at the Waynesboro facility. Facility functional responsibilities include facility infrastructure engineering and construction management. This position serves as the facilities site lead for the Waynesboro location.
This position will initially be based in Charlottesville, VA for approximately 1-2 years and will then transition to the Waynesboro, VA facility.
