- Responsible of the financial close process including system feeds, reconciliations, controls, and the review of the results occurs in a timely basis and with the highest level of quality.
- Responsible to organize a pre-closing preparation meeting with the team and ensure alignment on responsibility & timeline.
- Responsible to review month-end deliverables under the team responsibilities and provide feedback to the team.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to enrich the financial data offer and provide answers for a better understanding of the business while providing month-end analysis and answer ad-hoc queries.
- Responsible to support the preparation of financial statements and key disclosure. Review and support any external financial reporting and collaborate with the group reinsurance function to deliver quality & timely work.
- Responsible to coordinate and review all internal management reporting such as intercompany and aging reconciliation and provide key insight on key variance.
- Responsible to review and support the preparation of regulatory PC1 reporting to regulators.
- Responsible to maintain and improve effective internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Support regular internal audits to identify areas for improvement and risk mitigation. Streamline financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in implementation of any new or changed accounting standards.
- Support and facilitate the audit process with both internal and external audit.
- Lead reinsurance transformation project for the reinsurance activities under his/her leadership (RSA).
- Increase the efficiency and timeliness of financial close process including reporting requirements to senior management and internal business partners.
- Influence outcome of special projects impacting reinsurance team.
- Build relationships and networks to support your professional growth and success.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- CPA designation Certified Public Accountant.
- Experience with insurance company on reporting and/or projects.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience as manager.
- Understanding of reinsurance accounting/contracts a strong asset.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills / bilingual (English/French)
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Leadership skills, team player, independent and efficient
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to persuade, influence and motivate from a wide variety of functional background.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.

About the role
Our candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing reinsurance cycle of accounting. Leading a team of reinsurance expert, our candidate will be participating in month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes, and most importantly, establishing robust internal controls, driving financial planning, and analysis.In addition, our candidate will be playing an active role in the transformation & integration of the reinsurance activities under his/her leadership.

The candidate will lead a team of 3 reinsurance experts and ensure planning, succession, performance and employee development while providing constant feedback and opportunities to growh.
