- Analyze proposed legislation/market rule amendments & proposals in the West to determine Company impacts and positions, identify internal stakeholders impacted by proposed legislation/market rules, develop a response basis, and develop and execute strategies to support Company positions
- Interact with US Legislative & Executive Branch government officials and staff as well as RWE teams to manage political/regulatory risk for wind, solar, and energy storage technologies in the Americas regions
- Communicate Company positions persuasively to key decision-makers including legislators, regulators, grid operators, consultants, and other external stakeholders
- Evaluate and direct external consultants in promoting the Company’s positions on federal and state legislation
- Provide live testimony before legislative committees/regulatory commissions as necessary to provide Company positions on proposed legislation/regulatory changes
- Coordinate coalition building and ensure consistent internal communication on issues impacting the Company
- Manage national and regional trade association relationships to promote Company positions and to direct resources to specific issues within the regions as needed
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Assist with budget development and process accounting transactions within Government Relations & Regulatory Affairs
- Minimum 3 years of legislative or regulatory experience and/or experience in government affairs roles with other companies or trade associations. Previous government experience a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Electrical Engineering, Business, Communications, or other relevant area required. Advanced degree (Juris Doctor, Master’s Degree in Business, Public Policy) preferred

The Manager, Government Relations - West will join our Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs team here at RWE Clean Energy (RWECE).

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California is $90,900 - $136,300. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
