      OVERVIEW:

      The Manager will serve as an early childhood education subject matter expert and manage the day-to-day implementation and operation of the home-based childcare and family engagement program funded through H-GAC. The Manager will provide day-to-day management of Early Childhood Coaches and Outreach Coordinators to ensure program targets are achieved and all required reporting is completed by deadlines.

      PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Provide day to day management of the coaches and outreach coordinators. Utilizes best practices to maintain, build, and improve the functioning and impact of the team. Manage assigned functions and ensure each area of the work is fully communicated and shared across the team. Foster a strong collaborative spirit and a can-do attitude. Ensure targets are met while providing the support needed to achieve them. Actively engage in all relationship-building and collaborative meetings within assigned areas.

      Assist with program design, monitoring and training. Support the Director in all aspects of program design and delivery. Ensures all monitoring and reporting is completed accurately and on time with appropriate back up and documentation.

      People Management and other administrative tasks such as develop, monitor and supervise staff, conduct performance appraisals, individual goal setting, and with input from the Director, handling interviewing and selection of program-level candidates. Provide supervision and clear direction for direct reports. Assure coordinated and clear individual and team goals are identified and monitored. Provide guidance and direction to team members while promoting individual thinking, innovation, excellence and development. Regular and meaningful updates with each team member is expected, including bi-weekly one-on-one meetings and effective team meetings.

      Serve as subject matter expert in initiative field. Ensure appropriate understanding of the community being served, the resources available and materials to support access to resources are readily available and up to date. Ensure up to date deep of knowledge in the areas of early childhood education with an emphasis on Reggio Elimia.

      Constituent Relationships: Work with program leaders to identify, develop and implement opportunities to communicate work, program goals and priorities to constituents. Be an effective and compelling communicator of the same to advance engagement and brand value.

      Years demonstrated experience in early education including engagement in community efforts. One (1) year of direct experience working with federal grants and knowledge of grant management practices. One (1) year of supervisory experience. Ability to work collaboratively with adults in teaching/learning situations. Must have knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards, Professional Development Standards, Texas Core Competencies, Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) and Reggio Emilia Approach.
