This position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful administration of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Non-custodial Parent, and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training programs. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Manager III performs complex (journey-level) managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of a business function, division, or department. Work involves establishing goals and objectives; developing guidelines, procedures, and policies; developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving established goals; coordinating and evaluating business function, division, or department activities; developing and evaluating budget requests; and monitoring budget expenditures. Supervises the work of others. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
-Manage day-today activities of staff in a business function, division, or department.
-Establish goals and objectives; develops and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals; and manage evaluation activities.
-Develop and implement techniques for evaluating a business function, division, or department activities.
-Develop and evaluate budget requests, monitor budget expenditures, and make adjustments as necessary.
-Plan, develop, implement, evaluate policies and procedures; and monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
-Identify areas of needed change and makes recommendations to improve operations.
-Provide technical expertise and guidance for a business function, division, or department.
-May plan and develop a budget for a business function, division, or department.
-May confer with executive management to develop strategic plans and long- and short-term goals for the department.
-May manage the preparation, development, review, and revision of legislation.
-May oversee special investigations, program analyses, research studies, and internal audits
-Supervise the work of others.
-Perform related work as assigned.
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
-Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plus four years of full-time experience in the development, implementation, or interpretation of policies and procedures in a public or private agency, one year of which must have been in an administrative management or supervisory capacity.
-One year of full-time experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of education.
-One year of full-time in-service experience classified as a Manager II with regular status will satisfy the minimum qualifications.
