- Working with internal clients, developing, coordinating and executing internal communications plans to support projects and initiatives.
- Assess, develop, and deliver innovative communication solutions to support project/initiative needs and successful outcomes.
- Ensure alignment in communications plans and tactics with Central 1's purpose, values, and corporate strategy.
- In collaboration with internal communications team members and other stakeholders, lead Central 1's internal communications annual strategy development.
- Write, edit, and publish engaging, outcome-focused content to support project goals and Central 1's overall employee communications strategies.
- Collaborate with internal communications team members to create and deliver quarterly employee Townhall and C1 Connect events as well as other live sessions to effectively communicate information to employees, supporting overall employee engagement, including event promotions, virtual meeting logistics, working with senior leaders to develop presentations and speaking notes where required.
- Participate in and lead projects and initiatives to improve Central 1's internal communications program and channels.
- Incorporate measurable, outcome-focused objectives and evaluation into all communications plans and projects, bringing learnings and discoveries into plans and projects.
- Develop and support opportunities for employee feedback, dialogue, and listening through pulse checks, intel meetings, focus groups, surveys, employee online forum and informal channels.
- On an ongoing basis, strive for innovation and process improvement to deliver high-quality communications that drive employee engagement continuously.
- Stay abreast of new and developing communication practices/trends; assess value and identify how they could be incorporated into the current environment.
- Incorporate Central 1's values (Eyes Forward, Sharp Minds, Heads Together & Hearts Aligned) in your work, relationships with colleagues and overall support of Central 1's purpose, strategy and priorities.
- Provide coaching to team members and other Central 1 colleagues to support overall team cohesion and continuous improvement.
- This role may also require people management and / or mentorship."
- A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Communications or a related discipline such as English or a Certificate Program in Applied Communications or Journalism.
- SCMP or CMP certification, APR or ABC accreditation is considered an asset.
- 6+ of progressively senior experience in communications roles. Experience within the credit union/financial services industry is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic communication plans focused on business goals and outcomes for the organization.
- Advanced writing skills, including editing, copyediting, speechwriting and writing for multiple communication channels and platforms.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to connect work to business goals, meaningful outcomes, measurable objectives and audience needs
- Strong relationship management skills are required to manage, coordinate, and integrate input and feedback from a diverse range of internal stakeholders and clients across all levels of the organization.
- Innovative and creative problem solver who looks to evolve approaches based on Central 1's business goals, strategy and desired outcomes.
- Possesses excellent judgment, with strict adherence to confidentiality requirements and the utmost professionalism in all situations.
- Organization, planning and time-management skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work autonomously as well as to collaborate with colleagues and internal clients to drive results
- Ability to analyze situations objectively applying advanced ciritcal thinking skills to make an optimal decision.
- Ability to influence others, drive a project to completion and support the business in strategic communication content and delivery.
