- Provide leadership for a team of 12-15 test leads and testers in delivering testing services to all areas of CPKC IS
- Ensure internal CPKC IS project and delivery teams’ testing needs are understood and delivered on time, on schedule and within budget
- Advance testing practices to enable all areas of CPKC IS to improve their quality of delivery and effectiveness/efficiency to benefit their customers
- Coordinate the execution of Testing Services processes to effectively deliver continuous quality improvements within CPKC IS
- Ensure the testing services delivered to project and sustainment teams meets or exceed their quality objectives
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring on Testing Services processes to subordinate staff to improve their ability to deliver to standards
- Execute Quality Gate (Q-Gate) review processes to ensure IS projects, initiatives and services are delivered in accordance with testing standards and policies
- Track IS Testing Services quality within the established framework by reporting on key metrics to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of IS testing processes and delivery capabilities.
- Provide thought leadership on the use of testing tools to ensure CPKC adopts best practices aligned with IT industry
- Ensure staff members are delivering to service levels and standards by conducting internal reviews of Testing Services work products including: requirements, traceability, test strategies and plans, test cases, test results, defect reports and Q-Gates
- Estimate testing effort based on project/initiative requirements in collaboration with testing team and project team members
- Conduct regular reviews with project/initiative team leaders to forecast demand in order to balance test team workload within the testing team
- Participate in all aspects of the testing life cycle including creating, reviewing and executing testing work products as required
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Commerce/Business Administration or equivalent experience
- Experience with and effective use of test management and test automation tools
- HP Application Lifecycle Management (HP Quality Center) for test management
- HP Functional Test (HP QuickTest Professional) for test automation
- HP Performance Center (HP LoadRunner) for performance testing
- Minimum 10 years’ experience across a broad base of IT business management, project management, service management, enterprise architecture, cost and business analysis or contract management
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT Quality Assurance and/or IT Quality Control (i.e. software testing)
- Certification in one of the following disciplines
- ASQ – American Society for Quality
- CSQE – Certified Software Quality Engineer
- CSTE – Certified Software Test Engineer
- ASQ – American Society for Quality
- ISTQB – International Software Tester Qualifications Board
- CTAL – Certified Tester Advanced Level.
- PMI – Project Management Institute:
- PMP – Project Management Professional.
- Ability to successfully implement change and best practices.
- Professional presentation and demeanor as well as excellent customer liaison skills.
- Ability to communicate with and influence at both management and working levels.
- Proven track record in coaching and mentoring test team members in best practices and delivery.

Management Conductor Program:
