      Legal Operations function has overall responsibility for delivering the Legal department strategic vision and operating plan as determined by the senior leadership legal team. A crucial function is managing delivery of key initiatives and projects that aim to demonstrate the Legal department’s value, improve efficiency and effectiveness.

      The Manager, Legal Operations will be a key player in driving strategic change across the Legal team and continuous improvement through process re-engineering, development and measurement of KPIs. We believe that by providing a consistent and repeatable framework to manage strategic projects ensures consistency and repeatability to help drive change and sustainability. Through effective business analysis, project management and change management, the goal is to improve our ability to complete project deliverables on-time, on-scope and on-budget while providing opportunities for education, growth and development across the Legal team.

      This is a generalist role that involves managing and supporting projects across the full range of subject matters supported by the Oxford Legal team and collaborating with our partners in IT and Finance.

      Responsibilities:

      • Manage projects to improve legal service delivery through:

        • Building and managing project plans and drive delivery of multiple parallel projects and initiatives;

        • Actively managing project scope, timelines, and deliverables

        • Use analytical thinking to evaluate risks, issues, adjust plans and solve problems throughout the project lifecycle;

        • Share best practices that will help improve overall Legal operational effectiveness; and

        • Perform project status reporting, both at a high level and detailed level.

      • Business analysis to:

        • Identify and implement legal department processes and tools to create new or streamline existing practices as well as manage the design, roll out and training for new processes and systems; and

        • Conduct deep dives into legal KPIs to identify opportunities and root cause of issues and develop and execute against related action plans.

      • Change management activities to:

        • prepare, support and help the legal team to achieve sustainable outcomes; and

        • Understand and communicate the impact of any changes to the business and stakeholders.

      • Build strong relationships within the legal team and collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT and Finance as well as various business units to understand and deliver on business objectives and priorities.

      Capabilities:

      • 1-3 years of relevant experience or working in a legal environment such as a law firm marketing department, law firm business development department or legal consulting practice

      • Background in project management

      • Stakeholder management

      • Analytical mindset

      • Facilitation experience

      • Process analytics and design

      • Ability to influence up, down and across

      • Change management experience or designation

      • Background in legal marketing would be a plus

      • Lean or SixSigma experience would be a plus

      • Prior experience with SharePoint would be a plus

      • Prior experience with iManage or Legal Tracker would be a plus

      To Succeed in This Role, You Will Have:

      • Project management and project delivery experience

      • Experience with process improvement, technology implementations and change management

      • Strong ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines across multiple projects while adapting to changing conditions and priorities

      • A passion for achieving results and delivering with high performance

      • Excellent relationship building, persuasion, facilitation and presentation skills

      • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to work with different personas

      • Consummate team player with excellent judgment

      • Process improvement and workshop facilitation experience (an asset)

      • Experience of applying innovative solutions and working with business stakeholders to challenge the status quo, deliver solutions that tackle business problems and meet business requirements

      • A track record of “thinking outside the box” and looking at a challenge through multiple lenses

      • Knowledge of systems development life cycle, IT processes and ability to grasp complex technical concepts and translate it into business language

      • Abilities with financial, analytical, and calculation skills
