- Manages steel product shipments by truck, rail, and barge from any U. S. Steel producing facility or joint venture to meet customer requirements
- Manages transformational process changes necessary within Logistics, Sales, and Operations Planning, and Commercial to enhance corporate initiatives
- Lead effort to enhance Supplier Performance Scorecards, and hold suppliers accountable to goals
- Manages and develops continuous improvement strategies in support of on-time delivery of freight
- Oversee and implement the overall transportation forecast initiative which includes
- Working with commercial and S&OP departments to extract appropriate data
- Working with IT department to translate data into a transportation forecast
- Lead implementation of transportation forecast throughout department
- Establish regular cadence of forecast data capture and updates of transportation forecast
- Distribute forecast to supplier base and work to align freight capacity to meet forecasted demand
- Measure successes and continuously improve process
- Perform special projects and assignments as requested
- Lead efforts to develop and implement cost savings projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a related field
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, as well as communicate effectively with all stakeholders

Job Description
The Logistics Services Operations Manager manages, plans, and supports execution of all services that support the logistics operations, commercial functions, and business development for U. S. Steel. Management accountability for all operational transportation in support of U. S. Steel and its joint ventures. Management accountability for the movement of products on all modes of transportation including truck, rail, and barge. Executes reporting, strategic planning, process review, system, and technology support. Manages, implements, and tracks all delivery performance metrics for the Logistics group. Manages and leads continuous improvement initiatives for the Logistics group.REQUIREMENTS:
