- Experience Required: 3 to 5 years Food Regulatory/Compliance
- Experience Required: FDA and USDA labelling regulations(i.e. standards of identity in food, nutritional analysis of food, 449)
- Experience Required: People Management experience, this role will manage a team of 4 direct reports
- Experience Desire: Nutritional Analysis software (i.e. Genesis)
- Experience Desired: Previous experience in regulatory review of product labels and nutritional analysis of food products.
- Education Required: Bachelors Degree in Nutrition or related
- Manage and supervise the QA Nutrition Services Team for timely execution of nutrition, regulatory and recipe projects.
Develop Team Member goals, monitor Team Member performance, and provide appropriate training, coaching and mentoring - Partner with IT to develop, test, and implement solutions for regulatory compliance at Retail and create test plans for any updates to the systems
- Partner with Marketing and Retail Operations on strategies for compliance with Menu Labeling and other nutrition related regulations.
- Conduct and oversee nutrition analysis of store-prepared products and items manufactured at central processing locations.
- Oversee review of all Own Brand Product labels for regulatory compliance and Nutritional accuracy while working with the entire Quality Assurance team
- Provide strategic goals and insight on marketing material that contain recipes, nutritional content or product claims in order to maintain regulatory compliance with applicable regulations.
- Develop and facilitate plans to maintain or achieve compliance for upcoming and ongoing regulations surrounding Giant Eagle packaged products
- Serve as subject matter expert of nutrition related software and databases
- Partner with share groups and committees to actively collaborate on behalf of Giant Eagle for applicable regulations
Job Summary
As a Nutrition Services and Regulatory Compliance Manager, you’ll be a key part of the collaborative team at Giant Eagle. You’ll bring your skills and expertise to supervising members of the quality assurance nutrition services team. You’ll lead the implementation of programs and processes aimed at maintaining the quality and accuracy of own brand recipes, claims, nutrition fact panels and publications. You’ll also ensure compliance with FDA & USDA food labeling laws and provide support for customer-focused wellness and nutrition initiatives.
