      Job Overview:

      Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Jersey City Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, the Manager of Marketing & Public Relations will develop and implement communication strategies to support marketing initiatives and oversee internal and external communications, developing key messages and content that supports the organization’s priorities.

      The Manager will interact will all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, management, donors, physicians, Trustees and community partners. Occasional weekend/evenings required. Rotating on-call coverage for media calls.

      Qualifications:

      Required:

      • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in communications, marketing or related discipline in the healthcare environment.
      • 5+ years of proven marketing experience at either a for-profit or non-profit organization.
      • Must be a strong writer.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

      Essential Functions:

      Internal Communication

      • Manages internal communications, including updating content on employee intranet, creating and editing content and distributing weekly employee newsletter, updating digital employee message boards and assisting in crafting executive messages and speeches for employees, physicians and board members.

      Marketing

      • Coordinates marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, posters, banners and giveaways.
      • Assists with production of annual nursing report and the hospital’s monthly cable TV show as well as facility and system service line projects
      • Updates hospital websites

      Public Relations

      • Establishes and maintains relationships with news media and represents Jersey City Medical Center to the media when the Assistant Vice President is not available.
      • Drafts press releases and media statements as needed.
      • Rotates on-call media coverage.
      • Collaborates and executes special events as needed

      Social Media Management

      • Creates written and visual content for the hospital’s social media channels and assists in maintaining the hospital’s Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts.
      • Manages online reputation management and responds to consumer inquiries through social media and Web site.
