      Job Summary
      This position is primarily responsible for the review and approval of capital vs. expense treatment for property, plant & equipment (PP&E) projects. Responsibilities also include supporting the monthly PP&E system close process, including the review of construction in progress activity, recording of capitalized interest, and closing of the projects system. Additional monthly close responsibilities include preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, asset rollforwards, analytics, maintaining compliance with related SOX controls, and providing supporting information and disclosures for external reporting.

      Primary Activities and Responsibilities

      • Review and approval of capital vs. expense treatment for capital projects
      • Supports month end close of the fixed assets management and capital projects systems
      • Prepares month end close journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, and analytics
      • Ensures SOX compliance and prepares support for audit requests and external reporting
      • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree in Accounting or Finance
      • 5 or more years of experience in Accounting
      • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Master’s Degree
      • 5 or more years of supervisory experience in Accounting

      Knowledge and Skills

      • In-depth understanding of GAAP and SOX financial reporting controls
      • Ability to communicate effectively with business partners, peers and senior leadership
      • Ability to perform and interpret complex analysis
      • Ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as in a team environment.
      • Ability to support the accounting team as the company modernizes its accounting systems
