- Project management and execution of two Residency Weekends per term: develop overall program schedule and budget, coordinate facilities, manage invitations, guest lists and speakers, ensure hotel blocks are reserved and send promotional links, schedule on- campus shuttles and transportation, plan all meals (select food options, pay deposits, allocate receipts, etc.), coordinate ID cards, manage marketing materials, oversee requests for brochures, posters and signage, arrange for photographer, communicate program details to students and Residency faculty leaders in advance, manage post-event wrap up including budget completion, credit card allocation, event surveys under the Program Director.
- Work closely with senior Associate Director of Straus Institute and Graduate Law Programs on all aspects of Straus' Professional program agenda including event logistics and set-up, securing catering/food service for in person programs and evening receptions/dinners, assist with the organization and breakout rooms for programs offered both in person and online as well as other assignments related to professional training programs/conference events.
- Manage and execute graduation celebrations for all Graduate Law Program students.
- Assist Executive Director and Online Program Director with the planning and coordination of quarterly faculty luncheons and other meetings.
- Manage other special projects for Assistant Dean and Directors.
- Performing additional duties as necessary or required.
- Upholding University mission through work performed.
The Manager of Straus Institute and Graduate Law Programs will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of the professional training programs and events offered by the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution as well as academic events related to the Law School's online and in person degree programs. These academic events include the on-campus weekend residency programs, international study tours at our various global program locations, graduation ceremonies/receptions, and faculty luncheons. Strong project management skills are essential and marketing experience is a plus.
This individual will report to the Senior Associate Director of Straus Institute and Graduate Law Programs and work collaboratively with the Director of Online Programs, the Executive Director of Graduate Law Programs, Sr. Director of Strategic Development and Global Expansion, SOL leadership and staff, key faculty members and our online program partners to bring these events to life.
The person in this role should be entrepreneurial and energetic with keen attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Great problem solving skills and ability to be flexible are critical to this role.Duties

Skills and Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree and previous event management experience. The ideal candidate has entrepreneurial skills, event planning experience, refined written and oral communication skills, and a focus on hospitality with the ability to make all event attendees feel at home. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google suite.
Preferred: Public relations and events-related experience. Qualified individuals should be able to articulate a strong commitment to diversity, and have the ability to work effectively with individuals from different backgrounds.

This is a Restricted, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.
Expected Pay Range: $26.82 - $29.80 per hour
The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
