POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Through collaboration with Trauma Services faculty/staff, responsible for documentation of the trauma performance improvement (PI) process, ensuring on-going quality of care delivered to the injured patient from admission through patient disposition and follow-up. Manages and maintains security of the Trauma Outcomes database. Obtains and analyzes information in order to develop new or modify existing PI initiatives. Creates customized reports based on analyses of data for dissemination and makes recommendations to improve the quality of trauma care and outcomes. Utilizes state and national benchmarks to determine trauma care standards. May serve as facilitator/leader of process improvement efforts.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, clinical informatics, or other healthcare related field required. Masters degree in healthcare related field is preferred. Three or more years of relevant healthcare experience is required. Experience in data analysis and preparation of PI or related reports is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Experience with quality improvement methodology is highly preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Trauma Outcomes & Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC) preferred.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
If applicable, current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas is required.About the company
