      POSITION SUMMARY: The OCM Manager is the key point of contact between Thorne and the Outside Contract Manufacturer (OCM). They will be responsible for managing all SKUs being produced at OCM’s, submitting new purchase orders, maintaining open orders, communicating delivery dates, and resolving any issues. Working closely with the Planning, Procurement and Quality teams, The OCM Manager will play a critical role in organizing information for both new and existing items to ensure all specs and documentation are accurate

      RESPONSIBILITIES – Satisfactorily performing and/or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job.

      • Works with assigned commodity group, planning and organizing all tasks.
      • Possesses ability to work effectively on cross-functional Product Development Teams to support the quotation process and Product launches.
      • Provides sourcing support- investigates potential contract manufacturers.
      • Participates in Supplier quality activities such as corrective action completion.
      • Completes Make vs Buy analysis to provide gross margin impact to leadership.
      • Reviews OCM performance consistently.
      • Coordinates with Quality, Marketing, Medical, and Engineering departments on new product development.
      • Handles multiple projects at one time.
      • Reviews forecast with Planning Manager to create, place & maintain purchase orders.
      • Organizes shipments between Thorne & OCM.
      • Monitors purchase orders to maintain delivery schedules.
      • Expedites critical items and overdue purchase orders, as necessary.
      • Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with both internal and external customers, as well as OCM.
      • Maintains OCM relationships to drive cost reductions while continually achieving the highest level of quality.
      • Develops, Reviews, maintains and analyzes, various reports.
      • Ensures all pricing and item attributes are accurately maintained in our ERP system.
      • Works with the warehouse to schedule shipments of materials to support our tolling operation.
      • Remains current on economic, industrial, and other trends that affect our market.
      • Interfaces with company and manufacturer senior management. • Possesses excellent negotiation and presentation skills.

      What You Need:

      • Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or another related field preferred. Graduate degree in Supply Chain Management Purchasing, Business Administration, Finance, or another related field a plus. APICS or ISM certifications preferred.
