Job Description

- Perform daily P&L analysis and reporting, ensuring effective validation and control.
- Responsible for the breakdown and analysis of both sequential and risk-based P&L decomposition
- Provide insightful PL commentary (daily/weekly/monthly)
- Highlight and analyze New Deal activity, including production of Significant Transaction Reviews
- Provide advice to the Front Office and senior managers on trade bookings, accounting treatment, and reserving for new transactions.
- Liaison between the Front Office and Information Technology
- Compare and reconcile the Sub Ledger to the General Ledger
- Collaborate with other areas within the firm (FC, IT, Ops, FO, IPV, Risk, Tax)
- Provide answers to queries from internal audit.
- Contribute to business strategy and delivery.
- Assist in ongoing projects and Ad hoc projects (investigations, and development of new tools)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
- 3+ years of financial services experience within Capital Markets product control environments with excellent technical understanding of capital market products
- Strong Accounting knowledge, Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement
- Product knowledge of Financial Instruments
- Able to work with spreadsheets and perform financial analysis
- Ability to interact successfully with the Front Office and senior management.
- Proficiency in Excel
- BS/MBA Finance or Economics
- CFA/CPA

What is the opportunity?
The Manager, Product Control produces PL and manages PL related activities for the CLO Origination, Conduit, Alt Finance and Lending business strategies. The position requires a professional to work closely with various bankers/traders and to manage the integrity of the local general ledger. The individual must possess an excellent understanding of P/L production, product knowledge and balance sheet maintenance. Product knowledge includes an understanding of CLOs and Loans.
