- Lead projects with corporate and operational functions
- Lead and advise the implementation of the planning, while leading and all aspects of assigned projects or set of projects/programs impacting the operation
- Directly deliver high quality artifacts and outcomes through all phases of PMLC including Envision, Design, Build, and Activate as needed to realize measurable business results
- Facilitate and build process/system mapping and analysis to realize business needs
- Guide and train project team members and other PMs on EDBA, PMLC and related artifacts and deliverables
- Keep all collaborators up to date and provide consulting at various levels (including leadership)
- Assist collaborators and research operational and performance data to provide statistics, trends, and reporting that advise decision-making teams
- Adhere to the metrics as well as opportunities for improvement while projects are implemented
- Bachelor's degree (Business, technical, or aviation related field required)
- 4+ years of relevant work experience
- 3+ years leading projects
- Proven successful project delivery using fundamentals of PMBOK practices/methodologies
- Successful and proven experience in handling single, or multiple, large, sophisticated projects across multiple functions
- Comfortable communicating and providing solutions to senior leadership
- Own hands-on delivery of projects
- Provide commensurate levels of specialized technical aviation knowledge or equivalent, program management expertise, discernment, and leadership skills to facilitate the identification and management of all interdependencies and areas of risk
- Experience successfully handling business and technical resources under a coordinated project plan to ensure the alignment of resources
- Demonstrated experience delivering measurable business benefits through project execution
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills
- Skilled in facilitating, delegating and motivating cross functional groups or activities
- Exposure to change management/facilitation, enterprise communication and training
- Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task priorities, demands, and timelines
- Experience using discretion in making tactical decisions while providing input on strategic decisions
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interviews required to meet job qualification
- Travel up to 10% of the time
- Master's degree or equivalent experience
- Project Management (PMI) Certification
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Demonstrated successful execution using SDLC, DMAIC or DFSS methodology
- PMBOK

Key Responsibilities:
The Enterprise PMO serves teams across United Airlines. The Project Manager is a trained, qualified professional who can apply United's Envision Design Build Activate (EDBA) framework and Program Management Life Cycle (PMLC) methodology to various businesses. This will enable teams to deliver assigned portfolios, programs, and projects with high quality, in a timely manner, and with benefits for our customers, frontline employees, and supporting groups. Effective execution in this role is critical to achieving United's goal of using Portfolio Management & Project Delivery Capability as a Strategic Enabler, on every project, with every team, and every day.
