- Provides lead e r ship in establi shing and maintaining quality and risk managem ent, including the de v elop ment and imple mentation of required Standard Op erating Procedures (SOP s)
- Manage and lead all Regulatory (ex. Health Canada) inspections
- Manage and maintain current all required Regulatory lice n s es ( ex. DEL, MDEL, etc.)
- Manage and lead all required Third Party Audit requests and maintain third party documentation (ex.
- Manage regulatory and corporate audit commit m ents.
- Perform any required Vendor audits and oth er qualification require m ents ( ex. Quality Agr e e ments)
- Internal GMP Self Inspection: Audit and report on the Quality Managem ent Sys t em to en sure its on -going ef f ecti ve application
- Manage the execution of critical proce ss Validation, equipment / facilities / s o ftware qualification
- Manage and ov ers ee product/de vice storage requirem ents and a ssociated monitoring systems
- Execute the Inv e stigation Program for various categories of ev ents
- Manage and ov ers ee the Product Rele a se process and in a backup capacity, p erform product release duties
- Manage and ov ers ee the Product Quarantin e/Reject process
- De v elop, re view and maintain current SOPs
- Ov e r s ee the Product Quality Complaint Program
- Manage and coach staff m e mbers within the QA team
- D e v elop the QA work unit’s p erfor mance indicator sys t e ms and the analy sis of establi shed objectiv es
- Deter mine, as ne eded, the nece s sary actions to str eamline e f fici ency
- Com municate the n e c e s sary in formation to k eep the team and the Senior Director, Quality As surance abreast of work plan, projects, proces s es, r esults, actions and recom mendations
- Repre sent the Quality Department, both internally and ext ernally, as a subject matter e xpert and source for con sultation and/or in formation and/or refe r ence
- Acts as the delegate in the absence of the Senior Dir ector, Quality Assurance
- Manage and ov ers ee employee Training status and documentation for SOPs and operational procedures during the absence of Manager, Quality Training.
- Work with Departm ent Managers to en sure that there are appropriate lev e ls of training, education & coaching on GMP management systems for all di sciplines of the workforce during the absence of Manager, Quality Training
- Schedule and facilitate quarterly Quality Management Review meetings, present topics which covers quality goals with main emphasis on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) applicable to quality system elements.
- B.Sc. degr ee in Ch em i stry, Pharmacy, Biology, Chemical Engine ering, Microbiology or a similar di scipline
- Minimum of Se v en to Ten (7 -10) years Quality manage m ent experience in a pharmac eutical manufacturing setting, at le a st 2 in a direct Management role
- Extensive current know l edge and experience with cGMP and Medical De vice Regulations
- Minimum five (5) years of G MP Auditing experience
- MRA, ICH, WHO, ISO 9001/9002/13485 knowle dge and understanding
- Validation and Qualification (proce s s, sof t ware, equipm ent, facilitie s) experi ence
- Demon strated e f f ective Managem ent Skills
- Strong computer knowledg e: Micros o ft Of fice, Database Management, Inv entory Control
- Excellent co mmunication skills, both written and oral, are required
- Excellent time manag e m ent, interpersonal and organizational skills, with a strong attention to d etail
- A team play er with the ability to work well with oth er departments within SDMSHN as w ell as with third parties and oth er SDM Di visions/aff iliate s.

Basic Function
Reporting directly to the Director, Scientific Affairs & QA, the Manager, Quality As surance is r esponsible to lead the Quality team ensure co mpliance and eff icient day -to-day quality op erations.
Nature and Scope
In this position, the Manager, Quality Assurance is re spons ible for maintaining the compliance with the GMP Regulations as they relate to pharmaceutical and importation, distribution and/or wholesaling activitie s, including but not limited to: product quality complaints, non -con formance in v e stigations, product rele a se/di sposition, recall s, training, third party a udits, change control, se lf -in spections, CAPA manage ment, validation of critical proce s s e s, qualification of equipment/facilities / v endors, operational complaint inv e stigation s, and product dossier compliance. In addition, this individual must ensure complian ce with corporate standards and business quality practice s.
