Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, is growing in The Rocket City, Huntsville, AL! We've begun hiring for our third facility in the Huntsville area, a 379,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility near the Huntsville airport that will specialize in the production and assembly of inert solid rocket motor components. We are also continuing to grow at our Huntsville center of excellence for Missile Solutions Program Management and Engineering, as well as our Advanced Manufacturing Facility in north Huntsville, where we produce advanced propulsion products.

Essential Functions
25% - Develops, communicates and implements program quality plans that comply with contract requirements, quality management standards and command media.
25% - Trains and ensures full compliance with policies and procedures related to drawing requirements, controlling of nonconforming material, cause and corrective action, first article inspection, engineering milestone reviews, risk management, AS9100 requirements, as well as other responsibilities in quality engineering and inspection.
20% - Manages effectiveness along with participation and leadership in cause and corrective activities, failure investigations, metric creation & implementation and drives actions and accountability, and special projects to support program Corrective/Preventive Action Committees (CACs/PACs) and other management boards.
10% - Provides short and long-range strategic and tactical planning for safety programs
10% - Conducts routine audits and inspections to identify and eliminate non-compliance issues
10% - Leads systematic identification of hazards, assessing risks, and implementing controls to promote safe operations at the site
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in quality, safety, engineering or related field and at least Seven (7) years of directly related experience. Extensive background in the field of manufacturing is preferred. A strong understanding of quality management systems, quality principles and safety is expected. Demonstrated ability to strategically organize and complete projects, objectives and tasks. A passion and understanding for continuous improvement concepts and the ability to deploy and lead to the benefit of the business is required. Candidates overall experience and personal competencies will be taken into account.
Problem solving, and written/verbal communication skills are required. The candidate must have a track record that demonstrates: 1) a highly motivated team player; 2) consistency in meeting commitments; 3) the ability to motivate and inspire change.
Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard manufacturing and/or office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
