      Travel:
      Compensation: $70,000-$75,000 base salary with 10% bonus potential!

      Position Summary:

      The purpose of the Safety and Training Manager is to support Safety initiatives and occupational safety and food safety/quality assurance, as well as DOT compliance. The Safety/Training Manager will follow best management practices to align with company strategies and core values. This position will foster employee and management engagement to continuously improve results in divisional performance metrics for Safety and Food Safety. This position is an individual contributor managing process and safety related projects, with no direct reports.

      Responsibilities:
      • Maintain organized and up-to-date Occupational Safety and Food Safety/QA programs and documents to successfully represent standard operating procedures and practices.
      • Maintain and promote procedures to facilitate OpCo compliance with company standards (including Marieux third party standards) and local, state and federal rules and regulations.
      • Site point of contact for inspections/audits conducted by regulatory agencies such as OSHA/DOT/EPA/USDA.
      • Chair the OpCo Safety Committee and monitor activities conducted by the committee. Record and communicate meeting minutes and follow up on discussed action items.
      • Administer and monitor Occupational Safety, Food Safety/QA, and DOT training and related tracking, recordkeeping and internal communication, utilizing the Learning Management System and third-party training services/schools.
      • Support the Transportation department in safety and compliance duties related to DQ Files, Hours of Service, Drug Testing, MVR Checks, and more.
      • File Auto Liability and Worker’s Compensation claims, maintain AL/WC files, interface with AL/WC carrier, including the attendance of Quarterly Claim Review meetings with TPA.
      • Support Corporate direction pertaining to Environmental regulatory requirements and initiatives.
      • Lead incident investigations by conducting root-cause analyses to determine areas of opportunity to prevent future incidents.
      • Maintain and review OSHA 300 Log, 300A Summary, and 301 Forms adhering to required posting schedule.
      • Utilize internal systems to monitor and communicate loss trends in an effort to decrease and ultimately mitigate further loss, including preparation for property assessments and tracking of risk recommendations.
      • Maintain site security policies and procedures, to include the monitoring of the OpCo’s access control system, camera system, and Key Control Program.
      • Collaborate with Corporate Security, HR, and Legal in the event of internal and external theft, to include assisting local management in the communication of incident details with local law enforcement as needed.
      • Monitor the completion of regulatory and best practice self-inspections and audits and follow-up as needed.
      • Collaborate with personnel from internal departments, corporate roles, and external business partners.
      • Primary contact for all product recalls.
      • Administers powered equipment certifications and safe operating records (e.g., pallet jack, reach lift, order picker, forklift, man-lift).
      • Stay current with local, state and federal rules and regulations and their interpretation in our industry. Communicates as needed to notify internal management of changes and risks.
      • Oversight, coordination and recordkeeping for annual FA/CPR/AED training.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management or a related field.
      • 3-5 years of experience coordinating and/or managing health and safety compliance in a manufacturing or warehouse production environment.
      • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
      • Working knowledge of DOT regulations.
      • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience with DOT compliance.
      • Food Safety certifications such as HACCP or ServSAFE
