- Integrates the Simulation Center with an Inter-Professional Education philosophy to provide a learning environment for students and faculty.
- Manages the use of the College's simulation resources and personnel, collaborates with faculty on curricular integration of simulation throughout the academic programs, and to strengthen the support inter-professional initiatives.
- Designs and implements educational programs for faculty development in use of clinical simulation, debriefing, and assessment.
- Oversees the collection of data and evaluates simulation learning outcomes for simulation exercises and collaborates with faculty on disseminating findings and ensuring that instruction is consistent with professional standards.
- In collaboration with directors and faculty, designs and evaluates clinical simulation curriculum to ensure that expected competencies are being taught to students.
- Serves as a liaison to internal and external constituencies.
- Prepares reports on simulation program activities, standards, external meetings, educational concerns, and student successes.
- Develops and enforces policies and procedures to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient use of the center's space, equipment, and supplies.
- Manages budget for the Simulation Center and plans for replacement and maintenance of existing equipment and purchase of new technology.
- Coordinates and manages the daily operations of the Simulation Labs including scheduling, supplies and training. Works closely with the other staff and faculty to facilitate planning, implementation, and evaluation of SIM/Lab use.
- Provides orientation to college administrators and faculty on the features of simulation equipment and the simulated learning environment.
- Collaborates with Information Technology in evaluating proposed enhancement to existing IT infrastructure, simulation equipment, and instructional technologies and provide recommendations to college administrators.
- Develops entrepreneurial initiatives related to clinical simulation that extend beyond academic programming to optimize revenue and available resource opportunities.
- Available to work, day and evening hours and some Saturdays.
- Master's degree or higher in a clinical health profession or related field required.
- Minimum of 2- years of experience in simulation-based education and training or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience with designing and implementing educational programs, evaluation of outcomes, and assessment of adult learners.
- Certification in simulation preferred.
- Prior management experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate patient simulation scenarios.
- Familiarity with use and maintenance of simulation equipment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization, including faculty, staff, and students.
- Commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records, learning management systems and data management.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills to represent simulation resources internally and to external constituencies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Salary Range: Starting Salary: $80,717 annually

Malcolm X College (MXC) provides programs to students interested in completing a certificate or two-year Associate Degree in General Education, Nursing and the Health Sciences that will lead to careers in the high growth healthcare industry.
The Simulation Center, skills labs, and simulation facilities within the new MXC campus provides a learning environment that allows students to engage in immersive real-life simulated health care experiences, providing experiential learning experiences that support effective competency-based education and training to students. Computer based simulation devices, ranging from part task trainers, computer-enhanced mannequins, and virtual reality simulators, are some of the tools used in the MXC health simulation training laboratories.
The Manager-Simulation Education oversees standardization of simulation education in the Simulation Center. The manager collaborates with faculty in the development, planning and integration of simulation into the curricula. The Manager-Simulation Education, in collaboration with deans and program faculty participates in implementing Inter-Professional Education (IPE) as a pedagogical approach to prepare students to work as part of inter-professional teams and provide patient-centered care in a collaborative manner. Performs related duties as required.
