      The CBS Sports Social Media team creates and distributes all content posted from CBS Sports Digital's social media channels. In a sports media landscape that's cluttered with noise, we take pride in building creative concepts that cut through with our audience and represent the values of our brands!

      We are seeking a Manager to spearhead our CBS Sports College Football brand and lead our CFB coverage on social media. The ideal person will have extensive knowledge of college football. Further, they will understand the best strategies of TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, as demonstrated by their portfolio of work. The candidate must have a proven ability to identify trending stories and create content (i.e. videos, graphics, photoshops, memes) that best play to each platform’s audience.

      The candidate will work in partnership with the production, editorial, and social teams at CBS Sports to run @CBSSportsCFB. On top of covering college football, earning trust and integrating within CBS Sports’ college football production will be a crucial responsibility for this role.

      This is a Freelance position

      Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Establish voice and strategy for CBS Sports College Football social accounts
      • Grow following of CBS Sports College Football on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube
      • Hit monthly engagement targets for CBS Sports College Football across all platforms
      • Create and post photoshops, graphics, and vertical video from scratch
      • Cover live college football games on CBS platforms and on other networks
      • Work in partnership with CBS Sports College Football production team
      • Regularly present analytics and best practices to production team to make programming cut through on social more consistently
      • Track and provide weekly and monthly performance updates on all CBS Sports College Football social accounts
      • Build and carry out promotional plans for college football games on CBS, CBS Sports Network, and Paramount+
      • Determine trending stories and convert them into social posts to drive engagement in a timely manner
      • Shoot and distribute regular cadence of behind-the-scenes content featuring our college football talent
      • Work with the CBS Sports CFB editorial team to convert CBSSports.com articles and video into social content
      • Collaborate with 247Sports social team to amplify their content around commitments, transfer portal, NIL, and National Signing Day
      • Coverage of CBS college football studio shows, distributing and formatting clips for social media

      Basic Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's Degree in social media, journalism, communications, or a related field
      • 5+ years experience running social media accounts
      • Proactive approach in ideating, building, and posting content to social platforms
      • Deep knowledge of college football, especially the Big Ten and SEC
      • Experience managing designers and video editors in building creative
      • Collaborative spirit and ability to work well with colleagues in other departments
      • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
      • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, especially during college football season
      • Flexibility to regularly come into our NYC offices and studio during college football season

      Additional Qualifications:

      • Deep familiarity with social media audiences, strategies, and analytics
      • Track record of significant audience and engagement growth on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook
      • Ability to multitask and perform at the highest levels under stress and tight deadlines
      • Excellent writing and grammar skills!

      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

      Hiring Salary Range: $80,000.00 - 95,000.00.

      The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
