Manager, Strategy and Innovation

This role leads regulatory strategy and ensures regulatory compliance to support growth and innovation for Kraft Heinz businesses, particularly Agile Pods. The position provides the opportunity to collaborate with cross-function members across Kraft Heinz and coordinate work among members of the Kraft Heinz regulatory team. The role reports to a Senior Manager of the Kraft Heinz regulatory team.

What’s on the Menu?

• Lead regulatory strategy, knowledge management, and related work to support best-in-class regulatory capabilities relevant to innovation and growth together with the responsible Senior Manager
• Serve as the primary regulatory team contact for Agile Pods; ensure Agile Pods receive strategic regulatory advice and technical guidance/input consistent with Agile ways of working and applicable state and federal (CFIA, FDA, and USDA) requirements for food
• Complete and/or coordinate regulatory work to ensure adequate resourcing and seamless regulatory support for Agile pods including:
  • Regulatory compliance of products, labels, advertising and promotions as well as appropriate adherence to Kraft Heinz policies and guidelines
  • Review of formulations to ensure compliance with applicable standards and ingredient safety requirements
  • Development of nutrition and regulatory technical information to support product and label development
  • Substantiation of product and ingredient claims
  • Review and approval of label graphics, advertising, and promotional materials for regulatory compliance and technical accuracy
  • Collaboration with Agile teams to provide regulatory guidance to help inform decision making, including scoping/identification of opportunities
  • Transition of regulatory support from Agile ways of working to full Commercialization, as appropriate
• Maintain deep understanding of development and commercial processes relevant to regulatory requirements, including product and package development, manufacturing/operations, logistics, procurement, commercialization, and customer relationships.
• Assess risks relevant to regulatory requirements and provide related strategic advice
• Stay abreast of regulatory developments and identify opportunities, risks, and implications to the businesses

• I have a BS in Food Science, Nutrition, Engineering or related field with exposure to food science/engineering, nutrition/labeling, or product development
• I have a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and processes, including mandatory labeling elements and product claims
• I have USDA, FDA, CFIA experience
• I have strong leadership, communication, organizational and presentation skills
• I have excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter and ability to meet deadlines and balance challenging priorities
• I have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate the ability to negotiate and influence business partners when dealing with highly complex situations
• I have a demonstrable ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously
• I have the ability to simplify complex situations into simple processes and explanations
