The Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Orientation & Transitions department. This position carries out the responsibilities related to the delivery of quality orientation, transitions, and student engagement in accordance with KPU’s strategic and academic plans. In particular, the Manager leads ongoing management, delivery, and benchmarking of event and service quality across all campuses.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline (Master’s Degree is preferred).• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a post-secondary student services environment with 3-5 years of increasing responsibility, including the supervision and management of staff.• A minimum 3 years training and direct experience supporting individuals with disability and duty to accommodate issues.• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.QUALIFICATIONS• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline (Master’s Degree preferred)• 3-5 years of recent related experience in the public educational sector, preferably in a post-secondary environment.• Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with students of diverse ages and backgrounds.• Demonstrated sound judgment, sensitivity and problem-solving skills when working in stressful or complex situations.• Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service.• Demonstrated track record of effective leadership and team management within a unionized environment.• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, leading and implementing change resulting in improvements to service quality, staff productivity and systems efficiency.• Demonstrated understanding of the Canadian post-secondary system, strategic enrolment management concepts and academic policies and processes that contribute to a quality post-secondary experience.• Exceptional presentation, written and verbal communication skills• Proficient in the use of student information management systems (i.e. BANNER) and standard office applications including word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications (e.g., Word and Excel).• Ability to travel between all KPU campuses frequently.Why Join KPU?

Salary Information
The compensation range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary (as listed above) for a position. Approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and approximately halfway of the salary range for a job. Annual salary increases are available through participation in the Administrative Performance Management program
