- Possess a strong understanding of SE fundamentals and how these fundamentals are associated with aerospace acquisition.
- Be able to describe SE activities in all phases of the SE “Vee” Model
- Have experience with and possess a strong understanding of the Systems Engineering sub-discipline of Configuration and Data Management (CDM).
- Have a rich background in and experience working across multiple SE disciplines in a defense role and have demonstrable experience working as a manager or lead in a technical role
- Be an excellent communicator
- Enjoy leading and mentoring technical professionals and helping them succeed in their careers
- Serving as a combined Assignment & Functional Homeroom Manager for a team of Systems Engineers as well as Configuration Analysts and Software Configuration Analysts supporting the E-2 CDM function. Duties include responsibility for developing and assigning tasking for CDM team members, managing personnel actions, to include such things as staffing, training, performance evaluations, time keeping, merit reviews and promotions, disciplinary processes, etc.
- Being responsible for the strategic implementation of skills and labor mix; employee development; mentoring; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
- Responding to short-notice data calls of various types used for functional activities
- Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree and 9 years of professional/military experience in Systems Engineering OR Master’s Degree and 7 years of professional/military experience in Systems Engineering
- Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of CDM and its role in system development
- Previous manager experience
- Experience in all facets of CDM - i.e., configuration management, data management, audits, configuration status accounting, etc.
- Experience providing input to or managing the development of basis of estimates (BOEs)
- Experience in process automation of CDM activities within an Agile environment
- SE experience supporting multiple Northrop Grumman programs
