      The Individual Contributor in SAI is a strategic thought partner to key stakeholders and an integral contributor to Genentech’s Commercial Medical and Government Affairs (CMG) planning efforts.

      He/she is responsible for providing strategic sales and marketing insights with moderate/minimal guidance / supervision, leveraging their capabilities as highly analytical, entrepreneurial problem-solvers to:

      • Develop strategic analyses and deliverables to drive business impact across the organization

      • Collaborate with partners to define use cases and deliver results in a timely manner

      • Drive the project roadmap for a diverse team of doers, thinkers and problem-solvers

      The specific role within the SAI BU teams requires a mix of Data Analytics capabilities. However, all Individual Contributors have the opportunity to blend and extend their expertise on different initiatives to further develop both the breadth and depth of their capabilities.

      MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Develop a deep understanding of customers and market dynamics, and apply your technical skills to advance that knowledge and guide the organization, delivering insights that help drive customer impact.

      • Help stakeholders define clear, impactful business priorities, and where possible, use their own expertise or existing analysis/research to influence and guide.

      • Provide technical/analytical expertise to team through secondary data analytics

      • Apply analytical and statistical methods to answer a variety of business questions using multiple data sources and technical tools

      • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of promotional efforts, projects, and practices and identify opportunities to optimize value of investments

      • Collaborate within cross-functional teams to develop solutions, gain alignment and deliver impactful business insights; engage necessary stakeholders to enable better decision-making

      • Openly share perspective and insights to elevate team thinking and drive a balanced, holistic point of view; effectively weigh and communicate trade-off considerations

      • Take an enterprise mindset, linking individual responsibilities with broader organization; focus on outcomes that provide most business value

      • Demonstrate self accountability

      • Look for opportunities for continuous improvement; engage managers and peer group regularly for coaching, assistance, and advocacy

      • Act as a thought partner and advisor to all relevant teams and stakeholders; look for and establish opportunities for peer mentorship

      • Have a high level of familiarity with data science work in order to translate the business needs on key hematology initiatives (such as omnichannel and health equity) into data science products

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Manager (SE6)

      • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline: Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer or Physical Sciences or related field AND

      • 5+ years of relevant work experience OR

      • An equivalent mix of relevant education and work experience is required

      The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $133,200 - $247,400.

      Sr. Manager (SE7)

      • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline: Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer or Physical Sciences or related field AND

      • 7+ years of relevant work experience OR

      • An equivalent mix of relevant education and work experience is required

      The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $152,700 - $283,500.

      Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Strong knowledge of / experience working with analytical tools is required (e.g., SAS, Python, SQL)

      • Strong knowledge of secondary data sources including syndicated sales, promotional & marketing data, longitudinal patient level data; experience with payer data

      • Considerable experience and expertise with statistical modeling, analysis and presentation of results to a non-technical audience

      • Experience translating research or analysis to concise, compelling business stories that influence decisions and strategy

      • Experience acting as a strategic thought partner to teams; Demonstrated ability to problem solve and think outside the box

      • Proven track record of leadership, time-management, project management, and teamwork

      • Expertise in standard analysis and presentation software (Excel, PowerPoint)

      • Persuasive written and verbal communication skills

      • Strong attention to detail

      This role is based out of our office in South San Francisco and works on campus a majority of the time. Relocation benefits are available for this posting.
