Oversees workloads and workflows to ensure deliverables are met and/or exceeded
Grows book through cross-selling opportunities
Oversees the on-boarding of new clients by working collaboratively with client service team(s) to establish the implementation plan, team and timeline
Builds strong and productive relationships with clients, partners and fellow leadership teams
Establishes effective carrier/vendor relationships to serve clients in benefits procurement and administration
Attends carrier events to remain up to date and knowledgeable of carrier plans and changes, as well as maintain strong relationships
Leverages the company’s national and local resources to drive greater operational efficiencies
Develops sophisticated benefit design and renewal strategies and drives the development of solutions to address complex client issues
Works closely with account management and/or client service teams on pre-renewal strategy, RFP distribution, SPR’s, open enrollment strategy and post renewal analysis
Determines the full scope of services to be provided to client
Clearly establishes and communicates timelines with the client service team(s) and keeps them apprised of changes and renewal updates
Maintains accountability for revenue and profitability for client accounts and projects and keeps all involved parties up to date
Maintains a full understanding of the insurance markets, funding alternatives, networks and benefit plan options
Ensures accuracy of client data in CRM
Remains fully knowledgeable on compliance issues governed by legislation and regulations impacting employer sponsored health and welfare plans such as HIPAA, ERISA, Tax Code SEC 125, PPACA and state sponsored health insurance exchanges
Identifies and efficiently resolves employee relations and operational issues
Builds and fosters a positive workplace culture
Acts as mentor to staff to assist in resolving client issues and development of solutions
Monitors the success of projects in terms of scope, budget, timeliness and client satisfaction
Ensures client service team(s) exceeds client expectations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with professionalism and discretion
Must have an in-depth knowledge of the insurance business
Ability to work with clients and partners at a strategic level
Ability to influence and effectively interact with members of the C-suite
Ability to work collaboratively with leadership teams to meet and exceed goals
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Must be self-motivated and disciplined
Ability to manage one's workload
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
Ability to travel within assigned region and to corporate office several times a year
Proven ability to successfully lead, develop and grow high-level consulting teams
Ability to resolve conflict and bring about equitable solutions
Proven experience attracting, developing and retaining an “A” player workforce and creating a positive atmosphere conducive to productivity
3+ years’ experience in benefits consulting, required; 5+ preferred
3+ years’ experience managing and developing staff, required; 5+ preferred
Must have a practical knowledge of quoting process and tools
Current life and health insurance license, required
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, other Microsoft suite produces and database applications
Advanced knowledge of health, ancillary and alternative funding products
Must be up to date and knowledgeable on Health Care Reform

The Managing Consultant is responsible for strategically consulting on their own block of business while also leading client service efforts and staff to ensure client retention and overall satisfaction. She/he will oversee strategy, financial analysis, benefit design, plan renewals, benchmarking, and overall service delivery. They will also effectively communicate OneDigital’s value proposition and latest industry trends to active clients and mentor and train staff in best practices of client relationship development and consulting techniques.

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
