      Applied Materials' Corporate Controller's team is looking for an experienced professional for the position of Managing Director, Global Accounting Controller. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, this role will have broad responsibility across the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert-level accounting consultations, assist with implementation of a variety of process and system enhancements across the accounting organization.

      Our ideal candidate is a top performer who can manage multiple projects on a real-time basis and has demonstrated the ability to identify and resolve operational challenges. Experience working across functions a plus and strong business partner relationship skills required. This role provides excellent exposure to understand our company's business models, finance, and accounting processes.

      Key Responsibilities

      · Oversight of complex finance related processes such as SEC reporting, finance policy, stock compensation, mergers and acquisition accounting.

      · Management of an organization that identifies and resolves potential reporting issues and partners closely with affected finance areas to ensure proper support for required disclosures.

      · Management of identification and resolution of transactions requiring special treatment in US GAAP financial statements. Responsible for reviewing technical accounting interpretations memos.

      · Manage the monthly and quarterly close including reconciliation of complex and technically challenging balance sheet accounts.

      · Overall ownership of the finance policies including drafting, implementation, interpretation and maintenance.

      · Responsible for monthly and quarterly close support.

      · Ownership of relationship with external auditors. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of key schedules for external auditors.

      · Oversee the identification of areas of process improvements in core areas of responsibility and lead the changes needed.

      · Oversee the planning, coordination and execution of technical projects to support the business and functions.

      · Review contracts to identify technical accounting matters and ensure compliance with corporate and accounting policies.

      · Work cross-functionally within the organization to support various stakeholders on technical accounting matters.

      · Assess the impact of new and proposed accounting pronouncements and standards to ensure compliance with SEC and GAAP reporting requirements.

      Education & Qualifications

      · Minimum: BS in Accounting with10+ years of relevant experience.

      · Required: active CPA certification

      · Leader with experience energizing and motivating teams

      · Ability to evaluate key business challenges and direct the development of new or innovative solutions.

      · Strong US GAAP and relevant technical accounting knowledge (e.g., revenue recognition, inventory reserves, investments, equity, financial reporting)

      · Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical ability

      · Excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills

      · Proven track record of working with cross-functional business leaders to achieve challenging objectives

      · Ability to quickly establish rapport and gain the trust of project stakeholders

      · Ability to act as advisor to a variety of business partners

      · Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and take the necessary steps to validate assumptions

      · Excels at working as part of a team and collaborating with colleagues

      U.S. Salary Range:

      $208,000.00 - $286,000.00

      The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
