      Nuveen’s industry leading Municipal Fixed Income team includes products and investment structures unmatched in the industry. The deep expertise of the portfolio managers is supported by the largest buy-side analyst team in market. The client portfolio manager (CPM) team provides support across both retail and institutional clients around the world, working hand in hand with both the portfolio managers and analysts.

      The Municipal CPM job is responsible for supporting municipal strategies by explaining the investment philosophy, process, and performance of specific products to clients, prospects, consultants and investment intermediaries. Considered a recognized subject matter expert in municipal strategies, this job is responsible for supporting municipal strategies and selling to external clients as well as partnering with investment, product marketing and product development teams to support product marketing, development and enhancements.


      Key Responsibilities and Duties

      • Regularly meets with clients, prospects, and home office analysts to explain Nuveen’s investment philosophy, process and performance of specific products, serving as an expert in all municipal strategies that the organization manages
      • Work and partner closely with Nuveen’s US Wealth Distribution channels in efforts to grow assets across a wide range of municipal products
      • Lead client meetings in a consultative manner with an ability to respond to broad macro-based and account-level inquiries in a very thorough and detailed manner
      • Participate in seminars for financial advisors and their clients to help educate investors about the municipal bond market and Nuveen’s municipal solutions
      • Partner with various business groups in assessing and identifying market trends and resulting impacts to product lines, refining and developing messaging about municipals and the municipal market, and identifying sales opportunities
      • Partner with various investment teams to monitor product performance and support product enhancements and marketing adjustments as it concerns the Nuveen municipal franchise
      • ~ 40 to 60% in-market, travel oriented opportunity

      Educational Requirements

      • University (Degree) Preferred

      Work Experience

      • 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

      FINRA Registrations

      • SRC Indicator: Series 7; Series 63

      • Knowledge of current events across the municipal market as it concerns both market fundamentals and technicals
      • Knowledge of Nuveen’s suite of municipal products
      • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently and simultaneously, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities and timelines
      • Proven ability to sell and service existing/prospective clients
      • Able to think strategically and creatively and connect broad ideas with detailed execution
      • Strong oral, written, and visual communications skills - effective, and able to simply describe complex ideas to different audiences
      • Demonstrated exceptional project management skills
      • Demonstrated track record of meeting rapid-pace, demanding client needs

      Preferred Skills

      • Bachelor’s degree; MBA, CIMA, CFP, CFA a plus

      Location(s): This position is deemed Hybrid Flex which means this position will not be a fully remote position but will allow for some flexibility. This position will be associated with the following TIAA metropolitan marketplaces or offices: Mid-West Region (Chicago, IL) and West Coast Region (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Newport Beach, California) – in market candidates desired.

      Base Pay Range: $125,600/yr. - $180,000/yr.

      Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
