- Serves as the equity, diversity, and inclusion leader for CPP Investments, providing leadership, as well as promoting an inclusive workplace and a welcoming environment for all
- Provides insight and guidance on equity, diversity and inclusion based on best practice to support CPP Investments’ global workforce
- Acts as the advisor and thought leader to the IDLC, advising the CEO and CTO, and guides the Employee Resource Groups with both internal and external insights as relating to the ED&I strategy and plans
- Leads the evolution of the ED&I strategy and plans and drives implementation in collaboration with all areas of the business
- Raises awareness, and engages and reports on measures and achievements on ED&I initiatives
- Supports the development of the annual Report on Sustainable Investing alongside Corporate Communications and the Sustainable Investing team
- Influences, coaches, and develops ED&I capability in leaders across CPP Investments by mobilizing colleagues and the business to create accountability with different communities across the organization
- Responsible for CPP Investments’ Employment Equity initiatives, including development and monitoring of our employment equity plan, reporting and any other requirements
- Responsible for compliance with all ED&I reporting requirements in each of the jurisdictions in which we operate
- Represents ED&I for CPP Investments through internal speaking events and panels
- Have a demonstrated track record of success in leading, influencing and executing on significant multi-year strategic organizational change initiatives in large scale global organizations
- Have successfully led and managed ED&I programs, steering teams, working groups and employee resource groups
- Can lead the integration of ED&I into systems, processes, and long-range planning
- Can demonstrate a global perspective, grounded in practical experience working with international offices and stakeholders
- Possess a strong business and stakeholder orientation

Job Description

In this role, you will provide thought leadership and provide advice and direction to advance CPP Investments’ s equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Talent, the Managing Director, ED&I is accountable to the CEO. This position partners with the Inclusion and Diversity Leadership Committee (IDLC), Employee Resource Groups and leaders across the organization to ensure all inclusion and diversity strategies, initiatives and programs support and advance equity, diversity and inclusion at CPP Investments. This role will focus on facilitating the ongoing evolution and execution of a strategy that enables an inclusive workplace and supports a diverse workforce. The Managing Director will also partner with stakeholder groups to ensure ED&I strategies, initiatives and programs are embedded in core processes and day-to-day operations.
