- You will spearhead Fitch Ratings’ data and information strategy, while influencing and aligning with the broader enterprise data transformation and Group strategy.
- This is an exciting new role to drive data transformation within Ratings, in partnership and close collaboration with our Fitch Group-wide Chief Data Office.
- Develop and maintain a data strategy for Ratings, which aligns to the overall Fitch Group strategy
- Closely partner and collaborate with the Chief data office to ensure success of Fitch’s data transformation within the Ratings business
- Oversee the data budget for Fitch Ratings – managing the expenditure on data initiatives
- Understand and represent the data needs of the Ratings business, ranging from analytical groups, Business and Relationship Management (BRM) and Operations
- Influence and inform Fitch Group data strategy and activities, ensuring the interests of Ratings are represented and prioritized among other Group-wide initiatives
- Execution, planning and oversight: Ensure appropriate resource planning, impact analysis, risk assessment and business case development is undertaken for data initiatives
- Work closely with technology teams to advocate for data design decisions and help drive data technology related to key initiatives within Ratings
- Ratings lead for the data governance framework, ensuring that data assets are appropriately managed across the Ratings organization
- Develop and produce KPIs/metrics to measure performance of key data vendors/data sets and for management reporting
- Identify and remediate data issues affecting productivity and quality
- Work with Risk & Compliance for common solutions and controls across our enterprise data
- Ensure data flows are documented to ensure compliance with policies/regulation and facilitate technical support
- Work closely with business stakeholders so that enterprise data architecture is aligned with and capable of supporting current, emerging and future requirements
- Lead special projects, as needed, on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer or other Fitch Ratings Executives.
- Education : Bachelor’s degree required
- At least 10 years of experience in data and analytical fields, including significant experience in data management, data governance and / or data strategy
- Prior experience in financial services, specifically in a regulated environment, is a must.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work well in a matrix structure
- Experience with implementing data governance platforms, metadata management tools, data quality platforms or master data management platforms
- Previous experience in deploying enterprise data architecture and data governance
- Track record of promoting industry best practices
- Customer focused with commitment to providing exceptional client service
- Ability to express complex technical information in user-friendly language
- Highly motivated, flexible, proactive, and adaptable to change
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Experience working in an Agile delivery framework and managing Agile teams
- Prior experience in the Credit Ratings industry is preferable.
Managing Director – Head of Data for Fitch Ratings
Fitch Ratings is seeking a data leader to join the Ratings Operations group, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.
Your responsibilities will include supporting investments to optimize and upgrade our infrastructure, ensuring appropriate data governance and driving innovation to improve the overall Ratings process.
Crucially, the Head of Data will work with stakeholders to set the data priorities of the Ratings business unit, communicate them to the development teams, and monitor progress.
You will help to drive consistency and commonality of our data management practices and overall efficiency for the Ratings business.
