      Brown & Brown’s Risk Solutions team, formerly known as Beecher Carlson, is looking for a Managing Director – Head of Property Risk Engineering to join the National Property Practice remotely.

      The Head of Property Risk Engineering will lead a Practice of risk control consultants as well as provide and negotiate appropriate property and energy risk consulting services. The leader will support broader service efforts by developing the risk engineering strategy in addition to maintaining relationships with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to:

      • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of respective loss control team.
      • Direct overall strategy, results and coordination of loss control team activities.
      • Monitor loss control teams and service plans for each client.
      • Lead strategic risk control service program efforts in conjunction with clients.
      • Assist brokerage and production teams in their prospecting activities which includes written and oral presentations outlining the SRS loss control capabilities and expertise.
      • Keep current on risk control marketplace changes and inform client as necessary.
      • Attend required training sessions, courses, etc. to develop and maintain up-to-date skills and service knowledge.
      • Maintain appropriate level of confidentiality of information processed.
      • Follow all company policies and procedures.
      • Maintain applicable state PE licensing, if appropriate.
      • Maintain appropriate state insurance licensing, as needed.
      • Willingness to travel to conduct on-site inspections or meetings in support of clients, shadow independent or carrier engineers to sites when necessary and to participate in oral presentations and internal company meetings when required.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • P.E. preferred, but not required.
      • Minimum of 10 years of related insurance experience
      • Must have or be able to obtain the appropriate state brokers licenses
      • Ability to travel
      • Ability to establish work priorities and manage time effectively
      • Ability to use initiative and good judgment in accomplishing tasks with minimal errors/Must possess critical thinking skills
      • Establish and maintain effective work relationships and to function in a team environment
      • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
      • Ability to lead/command client and/or market discussions
      • Good listening skills
      • Proficiency in use of personal computers, including data entry, word processing and spread sheet applications Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
