PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Managing Director is accountable for the strategic delivery and 5-year plan for Weir Minerals METCA, supporting the Weir Minerals business through the effective delivery of financial and growth targets as established by the Weir Minerals Division and Weir Group Executive.
The successful incumbent will lead strategic initiatives which support the growth strategy through the robust planning, the allocation of appropriate resources, and development of new markets whilst strengthening the Weir Minerals business within METCA.
METCA consists of Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, UAE, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee performance and finances to achieve cost-effective objectives, implement growth strategies in line with corporate plans, create annual budgets, foster intercompany relationships, and fulfill legal duties for Weir Minerals Division and Weir Group.
• Lead Sales and Marketing strategy, engage in negotiations, and cultivate key relationships to enhance product and service offerings.
• Safeguard employee well-being, manage resources, promote ethical conduct, and uphold safety and environmental compliance for Weir operations.
• Offer senior management guidance, mentor direct reports, exemplify company values, promote equality, and fulfill executive duties for effective Company operation.
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proven experience in an Executive/Senior Management role with overall responsibility for (or strong contribution to) the delivery of bottom-line results (P&L).
• Proven leadership skills.
• An ability to balance the management of cash and income.
• A proven record of success in a similar role.
• Mining industry knowledge and experience would be highly advantageous.
• Significant senior level experience of people and resources.
• An understanding of financial management and broader management principles and techniques.
• Strong influencer with excellent consulting skills.
• A very high level of commercial awareness.
• University Educated and an MBA would be advantageous.
