- Use CAD/CAM systems to develop fixtures, tooling, and CNC machining programs.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods to achieve cost reduction and improve competitive advantages.
- Research new manufacturing methods and recommend capital improvement projects.
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Participate in design reviews with PDAC teams and design staff to ensure efficient and capable production methods.
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Confer with management, design engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Implement Engineering Changes or New Product introductions into the manufacturing system on a timely basis.
- Apply statistical methods to determine manufacturing process capability.
- Develop work instructions and tooling data sheets for production employees.
- Assist production departments in solving manufacturing problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering from an accredited four-year (4) college or university; or five to ten (5-10) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience programming CNC machines with G and M codes, experience CNC programming software use such as Mastercam.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Products..
