      Your Responsibilities

      As an Assembly Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Davenport Works located in Davenport, IA, you will troubleshoot and solve problems to support production (JDAAT, Fixtures, Test Stand, Tools, and Processes, etc.). In addition, you will:

      • Identify and implement continuous improvement and capital projects impacting safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and ergonomic improvements for the Motor Grader assembly operations.
      • Establish routings, SOE (sequence of events), layouts, tooling, assembly costs, and control plans to revise current operations.
      • Utilize digital engineering tools and new technologies to advance production processes.

      What Skills You Need

      • 2 or more years of shop floor manufacturing engineering-related work experience.
      • 1 or more years of experience with capital budgeting and capital equipment justification.
      • Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with salaried and wage personnel in a team environment.
      • Understanding of manufacturing processes and working in a production environment.
      • Experience with shop floor documentation (Sequence of Events, Labor Standards, and Operator Method Sheets).
      • Experience with engineering tools, systems, and databases.

      What Makes You Stand Out

      • Experience with MPPlanner for SOE and OMS development.
      • Experience with electrical product testing or programming equipment (i.e. test stands, software programming, controller programming, GFPTx, SmartTest, etc.).
      • Experience with JDAAT MES systems.
      • Experience with DLBT (Dynamic Line Balancing Tool).
      • Experience with torque tooling.
      • Experience working with incentive pay systems, especially gain-sharing programs such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan).
      • Experience with engineering change management.
      • Experience in multiple production or engineering functions.

      Education

      Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

      • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or other Engineering/Technology disciplines or equivalent related work experience.
