      Summary

      The Manufacturing Engineer I maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization, ensuring methods conform to product specifications and quality standards. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

      Essential Duties And Responsibilities

      • Assists in researching, designing, and developing manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
      • Coordinates and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
      • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
      • Analyzes and tests tools, machinery, and equipment for manufacturing methods, sourcing, and cost justification.
      • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency.
      • Assists with processing new parts and routines routed through the shop.
      • Identifies parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
      • Performs tool design (fixtures) using computer-assisted design applications.
      • Re-engineers existing parts for improved manufacturability.
      • Identifies, troubleshoots, and improves tools in manufacturing for quality and tool life.
      • Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
      • Works under general supervision, following instructions and guidelines.
      • Ensures compliance with federal, local, state regulations, and company policies, including ISO 14001 and HSE standards.
      • Participates in safety and environmental initiatives, reporting hazards, and suggesting waste reduction measures.

      Required Skills and Qualifications

      • B.S. in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
      • 1-3 years of engineering experience in manufacturing environments.
      • Proficiency in CAD and relevant engineering applications.
      • Strong communication, teamwork, business acumen, and safety awareness.

      Additional Information

      • No supervisory responsibilities.
      • Physical demands include standing, walking, manual dexterity, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
      • Work environment is typically loud; PPE is required.
      • Participation in safety and environmental compliance is mandatory.
