Job Description

- Creation of written work instructions.
- Design simple assembly fixtures using SolidWorks.
- Author and execute validation protocols (IC/OQ/PQ) to validate new equipment as necessary.
- Learn our molding equipment and provide support to technicians.
- Assist in documentation, testing, validations.
- Manual deburring.
- Degating using a HAAS mill with a UR robot.
- Packaging (pouch sealing, tray sealing).
- SMED
- VSM
- OEE
- Standard Work.
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/mechanical engineering required.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Strong technical writing skills to create validation protocols & reports with some guidance.
- SolidWorks experience.
- Statistical Analysis using Minitab.
- Strong Project Management skills.
- Ability to life 25 pounds and view items through microscope.
- Domestic Travel 0-10%.
- Technical Writing, Solid Works, Fixturing experience.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs.

The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for supporting the “Implants” Value Stream in a medical device manufacturing facility.
Looking for someone that will roll up their sleeves and spend >50% of their time on the production floor.
NOTE : If you have experience in most of these areas, please apply. We can send the right person to get trained for SolidWorks, molding, Project Management, etc.
What will you be doing?
In a clean room environment, support the manual assembly of medical devices to include:
Support an Implant molding area that consists of 4 molding presses to produce bioabsorbable anchors.
Support various secondary equipment such as:
Experience with LEAN principles such as:
What will you need to be successful?
The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $93,500 - $116,975 USD annually.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew.
Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
