      This Manufacturing Engineer III position develops, designs, validates and implements new process designs for core engine components. Utilizing the New Capital Introduction (NCI) process, the engineer will deliver best PQVC solutions for machining of 3500, C175 and 3600 core engine components. Subtractive machining, surface treatment, automation and advanced metrology methods are in scope. Project management of Capital programs ranging from $100K to $5M in value. Working with partner functional areas closely to deliver a total solution is required. This includes collaborations with product engineering, production operations, maintenance, facilities engineering and quality departments. Regular updates for stakeholders are required. Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Process Mapping, PFMEA, Requirements Management, Validation Planning, and Capital Management are key processes. Machine, tool, fixture and automation selection, testing, validation, installation and production verification are in scope. Supplier collaboration is also critical to deliver PQVC requirements of the Capital programs.

      Basic Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar discipline with two years of experience OR 6 years of relevant work experience
      • Capital project leadership experience with Capital Management System (CMS)
      • Project Management Experience
      • Data analysis utilizing Power BI, Tableau or similar tool

      Top Candidates will also have:

      • Creo / NX CAM experience
      • Experience with core engine component manufacturing
      • Experience with machining and manufacturing of engine components
      • Tooling or Fixture development experience
      • Adaptive machining experience
      • Familiarity with internal combustion engine components
      • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate and champion projects for funding based on data driven benefits that justify the capital investment.
      • Strong interest in Systems Engineering approach to design, build, validate, and implement robust manufacturing processes that produce the lowest TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) for Caterpillar over their equipment lifecycle.
