- The primary goal for the intern will be to assist the packaging process engineering team develop and validate the Trident MPI project. Validation and process development activities will require additional support for the packaging engineering team beginning in Spring 2023.
- Equipment process development.
- Assembly process optimization.
- Prototype & Validation builds.
- Prototype testing.
- Validation & Verification documentation.
- Fixture development.
- This is an in-office position located in Pendleton, SC; it is not a remote position.
- Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)
- Basic ability to execute a designed experiment (DOE) and collect data preferred.
- Basic ability to develop process flow and document into work aides preferred.
- Ability to design and/or modify models in SolidWorks preferred.
- Ability to write technical reports preferred.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with cross functional teams.preferred.

The Packaging Process Engineering team in Pendleton, South Carolina (AMISC) is responsible for supporting assembly and packaging operations at AMISC. We are searching for an intern pursuing a Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering degree to support the Packaging Process Engineering team at AMISC. The successful candidate will assist in process development activities such as model fixturing, assemble prototypes, experimental design, as well as prepare, execute, and document equipment validations with guidance from the engineering staff. The individual will perform various validation test methods (Tensile, Leak Decay, Burst, Visual, Dye Penetration) and will be detail oriented in the execution and documentation of these test methods. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.
This internship will run from May 2024 – August 2024. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Pendleton, SC facility.
