      Position Summary:

      The Manufacturing Engineer will support and lead the transfer of products and processes from US to Nuevo Laredo. The M.E will oversee and improve manufacturing processes. The responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new products and processes, as well as ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards. This position will also support the future new products transfer to NL Mexico and will require to travel to factories in the US.

      Education

      Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field.

      Experience

      3 years of experience in a similar position or production

      Background

      Knowledge and practice of problem-solving methods (8D, 5 whys, others).

      Creation of PFMEA's

      Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 Standard

      Interpretation of engineering drawings (including GD&T).

      Coordination and participation in product and process validation activities Management of measurement tools

      English/Spanish proficiency (writing and verbal).

      Responsibilities

      Responsible for coordinate and execute the product transfer from US facility to Mexico.

      Evaluate existing processes, designs, and layouts to determine areas of waste, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement.

      Identify tooling and equipment needs for manufacturing processes.

      Work directly with quality, purchasing and production to identify, understand, and correct design or process flaws.

      Develop tools to capture and maintain metrics to monitor process control and performance.

      Analyze data to derive improvement opportunities and initiate engineering changes.

      Document work processes and recommend process improvements.

      Support a variety of in-house organizations in continual improvement, problem investigations, safety, and documentation.

      Report on project status updates and measures to management.

      Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.

      Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

      Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods.

      Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.

      Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

      Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.

      Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

      Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.

      Maintains product and process databases by writing computer programs and entering data.

      Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
