  Your Responsibilities

  As a Manufacturing Engineer for JD Ottumwa Works located in Ottumwa, IA, you will, support assembly operations for the Cutting Products Business Unit. In addition, you will:

  • Identify and lead capital investment projects.
  • Lead line balancing activities to ensure proper workflow and labor distribution.
  • Lead team(s) to address quality issues by utilizing root cause analysis and mistake proofing by gathering and analyzing data; working with design, tooling, advanced technologies, maintenance and other functional areas to resolve issues.
  • Create and maintain work instructions and graphical work instruction delivery.
  • Work with SAP, MPPlanner, and JDAAT (MES) to perform engineering functions

  What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more year(s) experience with shop floor documentation (Sequence of Events, Labor Standards, and Operator Methods Sheets( OMS) and Line Balancing (DLBT)
  • 2 or more year(s) knowledge of capital justification and budgeting.
  • 3 or more year(s) demonstrated ability to work with the wage workforce and many levels of the salary staff.
  • 2 or more year(s) experience with line design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance.
  • 3 or more year(s) experience with tooling design and CAD modeling.
  • 2 or more year(s) working in a union represented factory.

  What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience in Dynamic Line Balancing Tools (DLBT)
  • Knowledge of incentive pay systems
  • Experience with MPPlaner for SOE development

  Education

  Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology.
  • 5 years of experience in the position.
