      Job Description

      Zurn Elkay Water Solutions is looking for a motivated and driven Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team at the Lumberton, NC facility, home to our innovative sink manufacturing operation. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

      Key Accountabilities

      • Assist the Manufacturing Engineering team in optimizing sink production processes, including metal forming, welding, polishing, and assembly.
      • Support implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S activities.
      • Perform time studies and workflow analysis to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
      • Create and update work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentation.
      • Assist in tooling and fixture design or improvement initiatives.
      • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges.
      • Collect and analyze production data to support root cause analysis and process improvements.
      • Participate in Kaizen events and cross-functional improvement projects.

      Qualifications/Requirements

      • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
      • Completion of sophomore year or higher preferred.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) a plus.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
      • Interest in hands-on manufacturing environments and continuous improvement.
