      Job Purpose and Overview

      Supervises teams (Production/EC/Warehouse/Maintenance) and individuals (including Production Supervisors) in a manufacturing and assembly environment; plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements for total shift operations, including but not limited to, methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This position will report to the Operations Manager. Direct reports include, but are not limited to, Production Supervisors, Warehouse Supervisors, Inventory Clerks/reconciler(s), EC Leads, Maintenance Leads.

      Shift Schedule: Third Shift – 10PM – 6:30AM

      What will you do as a Manufacturing Manager at Dawn Foods?

      Accountable for complete operations across multiple production and support groups for their respective shift by providing direction and leadership in relation to the following:

      • Set, modify, and track appropriate work-related goals to ensure on-time delivery for shift.
      • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets (safety, quality, productivity, etc.) are met and/or countermeasures are taken to improve deficiencies, complete daily reports in a timely manner.
      • Ensure all open production orders are closed out on a weekly basis, at a minimum.
      • Ensure Root Cause Analysis process is initiated for every major issue occurring during shift including but not limited to accidents, near misses, or production quality deviations.
      • Identify and correct scanning errors during confirmations.
      • Assist with identifying and implementing system improvements for shift and participating on plant-wide initiatives.
      • Model the Dawn Values by instilling positive leadership attributes such as open, honest, consistent, and frequent communications at all levels.
      • Ensure communications processes are active, consistent, and professional.
      • Ensure scheduled rework is completed during the shift.
      • Ensure positive and effective team members’ relations. Providing team members with comprehensive reviews, coaching and developmental opportunities. Resolving team members’ issues through problem resolution.
      • Balance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
      • Manage performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to leadership.
      • Ensure team members follow GMP, food safety and safety requirements and follows same. Monitor compliance to said policies and procedures, disseminates information at shift meetings and periodic spot check for compliance.
      • Ensure adherence to Quality Control programs to assure product quality and food safety.
      • Ensure adherence to procedures, including GMP requirements and Dawn Handbook.
      • Monitor (and adjust where needed) production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
      • Ensure efficiencies are met or exceeded according to standards in relation to aspects affecting production schedules.
      • Assist with internal audits to ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, and IFS methods, policies, and procedures.
      • Manage assigned projects related to both production and other departments in the plant.
      • Supports supervisors/leads/coordinators through coaching, development, regular follow up, performance reviews and operations team and projects
      • Ensure consistency in application of rules, policies and procedures across all shifts and all team members
      • Work to establish and implement a culture of order, discipline and adherence to Dawn Values and guidelines.
      • Must be able to communicate and extract details to resolve problems or gain necessary information when outside services are necessary.

      What Does It Take to be a Manufacturing Manager at Dawn Foods?

      Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.

      • Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field required., Master’s degree preferred.
      • Seven years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
      • Four years supervisory experience required in a manufacturing environment.
      • Project planning & execution experiences.
      • Process control knowledge and experience.
      • Proven plant financial understanding and experience (set up and execution).
      • Strong Business Acumen and Critical Thinking Skills.
      • Continuous Improvement (Six Sigma, 5S or Kaizen).
      • Knowledge of HACCP and GFSI is preferred.
      • Bakery Experience is preferred.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills; Presentation skills.
      • Human Performance Management – effectively monitors performance of direct reports and provides feedback to improve performance, coaching & developing teams.
      • Ability to build partnerships within the organization and coordinating with support departments.
      • Ability to effectively use and operate computer software programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word.

      • Normal setting for this job is a typical food manufacturing environment.
      • Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.

      Compensation: $74,590 - $116,360 with a Target Annual Bonus
