      Job Title: Manufacturing Service Technician – Electronic Controls & Instrumentation

      Working Pattern: 37 Hour Week Rotating shifts including night shift work

      Working location: 5 days onsite – Raynesway (Derby)

      An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Service Technician to join Rolls-Royce within Raynesway Manufacturing Services.

      Working within Electrical controls and Instrumentation, you will be responsible for the delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance and planned calibration, of electronic control systems and instrumentation, installed on manufacturing assets including but not limited to CNC machines, Chemical Process Plants, Welding Assets, and Heat Treatment Assets.

      You will be required in delivering reactive corrective maintenance limiting impact of fault conditions on production operations.

      What you will be doing:

      You will be required to perform a range of routine, reactive, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities across a broad range of manufacturing assets and production & experimental equipment across a manufacturing facility, ensuring that manufacturing assets are safe, available and capable for use when required.

      • Utilise problem solving skills and ability to identify and implement corrective maintenance driving fault recovery to route cause

      • Interoperate drawings & data to inform and implement the most effective approach towards safe isolation and electrical fault finding

      • Collect, organise, and analyse data in support of Key Performance Indicators for the Manufacturing Services Department as required.

      • Read an interpret Rolls-Royce calibration procedures to validate instrumentation ensuring product quality.

      • Read and interpret machinery and plant drawings, electrical schematics, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogues to support the delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance.

      • Identify and recommend improvements to electrical and calibration procedures. Research and implement improvements.

      To be successful in this role you will need to have the following:

      • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in relevant Electrotechnical trade, time served advanced modern apprenticeship

      • Current BS7671 Certificate (18th Edition) , CompEx certification scheme Ex01 – 04 (Desirable)

      • Good understanding of Electrical Installations and maintenance operations

      • Understanding of relevant engineering standards, including safety and environmental regulations.

      • Experience in fault finding of PLC and machine control systems on process equipment and machine tools (formal siemens training desirable)

      To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines, you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
