Job Description

- Acts as the shift lead for ADW Manufacturing Tech I and II employees
- Understand when a flush is necessary, which material to use for flush and accurately provide all required documentation
- Safely operate and become certified on a Counterbalance forklift
- Understand the productions schedule and translate it to dry blend
- Identify and provide all required paperwork to ensure all materials are cleared, available and used in accordance with FIFO
- Understand the production schedule and translate it to dry blend
- Accurately complete all ingredient transfer documentation
- Properly bin and store finished product and raw materials
- Utilize the ERP system to ensure smooth production runs and proper inventory levels
- Stage raw materials for the next shift
- Communicate with the Production Supervisor and Spray Dryer Operator to ensure production goals are met
- Complete all tasks in work area on the master cleaning schedule and document
- Basic trouble shooting of equipment issues
- Maintain the MRS system and 5S for their area
- Inspect, wear and maintain appropriate PPE
- Safely use and store chemicals and maintain chemical labeling
- Inspect and safely operate a Counterbalance forklift
- Follow safe lifting procedures
- Follow all IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health) procedures including but not limited to Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding and Electrical Safety and Fall Protection
- Act as a safety ambassador, immediately reporting potential safety concerns and/or stopping work in the event of a major safety concern
- Inspect raw materials and finished goods for quality defects
- Maintain country code segregation
- Act as a quality ambassador, immediately reporting potential quality concerns and/or stopping work in the event of a major quality concern.
- Ensure that standard work is followed in order to meet daily customer demand
- Stage raw materials and ensure line coverage (breaks, etc.) to minimize production down time
- Track performance and work to decrease production downtime
- Ensure that all transfers and transactions are being made
- Operate the Spray Dryer at a proficient level, maintaining proper pressures, temperatures and moistures, and selecting correct nozzle sizes
- Able to translate the daily production schedule and its impact on bin usage
- Run product moisture tests
- Maintain strict adherence to the batch sheet to ensure efficiency and product consistency
- Calibrate pH meters
- Maintain required paperwork (dryer logs, quality analytical sheets, etc.)
- Provide clear written communication through shift notes and emails
- Identify areas of concerns and provide solutions (safety, quality, production and maintenance)
- Perform dryer changeovers at the end of product runs
- Perform dryer cleanouts in the event of a plug
- Perform product quality sampling to check product for consistency, color and moisture
- Measure and maintain the amount of liquid in holding tanks
- Communicate with quality department to ensure possible contamination problems are addressed
- Complete all tasks in work area on the master cleaning schedule and document
- Basic trouble shooting of equipment issues
- Maintain 5S for their area
Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost Requirements:
- Inspect, wear and maintain appropriate PPE
- Safely use and store chemicals and maintain chemical labeling
- Maintain annual confined space training
- Follow safe lifting procedures
- Follow all IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health) procedures including but not limited to Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding and Electrical Safety and Fall Protection
- Act as a safety ambassador, immediately reporting potential safety concerns and/or stopping work in the event of a major safety concern.
