      Job Description

      A unique opportunity for a Marine and Crane Surveyor position available in Invercargill/Bluff. The role will be split between Marine Surveying and Inspection of land based cranes in the Southland Region.

      This is a 40 hr a week role which will require evening/night and weekend work. Excellent overtime rates and other benefits. Occasional travel to other regions may be required.

      Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Draft Surveys of dry bulk vessels.
      • Bunker/Discharge Surveys for Liquid Cargo (Oil, Refined Fuels, LPG, Bitumen and other chemicals)
      • Vessel On and Off hire Surveys
      • Vessel's Crane Surveys
      • Vessel's Safety Inspections
      • Various other marine surveys
      • Land Crane surveys under the PECPR regulations.

      Qualifications

      Essential Requirements for the role:

      • Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
      • A minimum of 5 years sea faring experience and/or 12 months as a Marine Surveyor.
      • IFIA Certification.
      • Have a tertiary qualification in mechanical or marine engineering.
      • Valid NZ Driver's Licence or ability to obtain.

      Required Skills:

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office - MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
      • Ability to perform physically demanding work activities i.e. working at height, confined space etc.
