      Job Overview

      Shriners Children's Spokane is the region’s premiere pediatric orthopedic specialty hospital, serving children from 0-18 years of age. The duties of the full-time Marketing & Communications (MarCom) Coordinator are challenging, diverse and most importantly--fun. Under the direction of the Director of MarCom, the MarCom Coordinator is primarily responsible for content creation and storytelling across multiple channels and platforms, including social media, print publications, website, internal communications, and earned media. This is an amazing opportunity for a creative communicator who wants to have fun at work, enjoys community engagement and is passionate about helping children and their families achieve their goals and live their best lives. The MarCom Coordinator, based in Spokane, Washington, collaborates with other members of the West region team located in Portland, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Honolulu, Pasadena and Mexico City; as well as the Shriners Children’s MarCom leadership team in Tampa, Florida. The pay range for this position is $51,100 to $63,875. Compensation is determined based on relevant experience and department equity.

      Responsibilities

      • Strategic Communications, including writing and posting multimedia content to the Shriners Children’s website, social media channel, the award-winning Leaders in Care magazine, and internal newsletters
      • Collaborative Communications including working with other departments and medical staff to solicit stories, and encouraging enthusiasm, positive morale and teamwork among employees
      • Brand ambassadorship – promoting a consistent look, feel and voice of all Marketing & Communications work products
      • Departmental Support, including managing multiple projects, reports, analytics, metrics
      • Some opportunities for travel to community events, clinics, fundraisers, conferences and meetings
      • Social media monitoring (some evenings and weekends) to ensure prompt replies to messages and comment filtering

      Qualifications

      Experience Required:

      • 3 or more years of Marketing/Communications/Public Relations experience
      • 3 years of storytelling, writing and editing experience
      • Social media creation and management experience (using a platform such as Hootsuite)
      • Managing multiple projects
      • Basic videography experience
      • Basic photography experience
      • MS Office Suite proficiency
      • Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other CRM
      • Familiarity with the Shriners International fraternity

      Experience Preferred:

      • Website content management system (Content Workflow or similar)

      • Looker Studio (Google Analytics)
      • Adobe Creative Cloud including Acrobat, PhotoShop, InDesign, Premiere Pro
      • Media relations / public relations
      • Graphic design skills
      • Video editing skills

      Education:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field
